Nissan Micra Alternator wiring. What does the fuse
this circuit runs to the the smaller two wir connector on the alternator.basically it serves to "excite "the field circuit inthe alternator at lower operating speeds and allow the battery warning lamp to function.without it alternator will not operate properly at low engine speeds.i think you will find if you reinstall fuse and disconnect the alternator that your 3.6 amp draw will go away.this would indicate a short in the alternators internal regulator and a replacement alternator should fix your problem.
Unable to shift to first
The shift linkage is messed up.Either the shifting forks are bent and need to be checked and replaced or you the tranny issue. Sounds like your shifting fork issue.Check for any fluid leak from slave and master cylinders. Also get the transmission fluid checked.-------- Check out. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
I have 9 wires coming
You must have an 8 cylinder Nissan vehicle, so you have 8 plus wires.
The plug in the very center should lead you to an external ignition coil.
Some cars and trucks have the ignition coil inside of the distributor cap and some have the coil placed somewhere in the engine bay externally.
There is also some people who like to use aftermarket high performance external ignition coils. In this case the internal one is removed and a new cap with one extra plug point is installed so that they can run the external coil off of the extra plug point.
How do you replace thermostat
Above the power steering pump, the goose neck connector with three bolts. Remove the hose, the bolts, and tap the outlet with a rubber mallet to loosen the sealant under it. Clean off any debris, etc. Make sure you put the thermo. in just like the old one. Use a towel underneath the area you are working to catch any coolant mess. take care and good luck. ps re check the coolant level when finished
I have a 96 Nissan
You are not going to find individual parts for that distributor. The dealer is not going to have them either. The distributor is serviced only as a complete assembly, less the cap and rotor. You can try a salvage yard for a used distributor and put your new cap and rotor on it, or you can buy a "remanufactured" one from the local parts house. I doubt if the dealer would even have a new distributor for a '96. They may be able to order a remanufactured one...which is probably "remanufactured" by the same people that do the ones at the local retail parts store.

Sometimes there is a clutch adjustment--if not-wait a second after shoving in the clutch--then shift--if this don't work--I would only be guessing where the filler plug is==probably a pop out plug behind front left wheel on inner plastic shield--remove wheel also. If so, remove plug--then transmission cap-plug & put finger in hole--fluid should be very near top of hole. May have to use a flexible tube to add oil--(special oil).
How to open the fuel
If you have the fuel tank lowered from the vehicle most cars have a brass or gold colored ring its about 4-6 inches across and is around the fuel lines going inside the tank (usually on top). (not the fill tubes though usually on corner or edge) it will have 5-8 small tabs sticking up about 3/16 of an inch. The ring spins by being tapped carefully with hammer and screwdriver so the ring rotates until the tabs are in the open cut outs and then the ring and fuel assembly lifts out of the tank. Do it slowly and carefully because you will have to lean it forward and backward to get it all out.
Nissan navara 87 lights are
You have a high amount of current going through a loose connection, causing it to arc. Turn on your lights and turn the starter key. If the lights dim, then it is the battery terminal(s). If the lights remain steady and the smoke is generated, it is in the high current line. This could be from the starting relay, down to the starter motor. Engine vibration may have caused a connection to loosen.
A sure way to find the smoking area is to get someone to turn over the engine in a dark area. This could be the garage (park engine in to allow exhaust fumes to exit via the open garage door). In a totally darkened area, as you peer into the engine bay, you may notice a spark or a glowing pinpoint. Have a torch ready to shine onto the area to allow you to pinpoint it. Keep hands out of the engine bay though, JUST in case the engine starts up!
If you do find the arcing area, wiggle the wire connected to that point, then turn over the engine again. If it starts, shut off engine and tighten that loose nut or bolt AFTER it has cooled down (allow a minute or two).
I have got a Nissan
i hate to be the bearer of bad news but you need a transmission, as the transmission heats up you are loosing pump pressure this is caused by to much wear in the transmission. it usely starts with delayed or erratic shifting that keeps getting a little worse over time then one day the wear goes past the maximum limit and the transmission fails......SORRY
Have just bought a 1988
there no automotive engines that share same oil with transmission
on your gear box there should be two plugs one in about middle and one near bottom the bottom one is your drain and the top one is your fill
The motor turns over but
Hello Namkiwi.
Your question as presented is a little confusing when you say it starts.
Here is my interpretation.
The engine cranks (turns over) but it does not fire. Hence, it does not start.
Because the engine cranks, your battery isn't the issue.
I will generalize on a no start as you did not list the year, model or engine size.
First you need to verify whether you have spark at the spark plugs.
Then you will need to check fuel pressure.
If those are good then a compression test.
If your engine has a timing belt, it may have slipped or broken and gone out of time. This will reduce or eliminate compression and cause a no start.
You will need a beginning point in order to pinpoint a problem. Otherwise any advise offered will be purely a guess.
Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a nissan sx
Your shifter cable is binding and probably needs to be replaced if it's that hard to shift.
