Check your fuel filter, fuel pump, etc. What temp/where are you? Cold weather may gel diesel fuel or biological contamination in the tank/fuel system. Be very careful with diesel fuel lines..high pressure can inject through skin. Some people have used starting fluid but too much can be bad for head gaskets....

wash the engine and after it's dry, park over some cardboard. look for the area of the leak to start narrowing it down. Once you figure out what area the leak is roughly coming from, jack the car up and have a closer look.

Fuse gone check check wiring and make sure you use proper bulbs

Check all the fuses first . Clean up all the earth points on the body ,and grease them .Move all the wire conections under the bonnet make sure they are all on tight. Check the battery voltage .Anything under 12 volts is not fully charged .Sounds like a bad earth ,Hard to find these, if i am not able to look at it . .

You need to look in the trunk behind the trim .Look up in the area of the fuel door , only inside the trunk you should see a red knob thats what you need to push or pull, its trial and error.

In the fuse box under the hood . If not an english mercedes then the fuse box will be found inside the hood on the same side as steering wheel Will have clips on the lid . Inside the lid the card in there will tel you the one for your radio . Also you should have one on the radio itself.

I would say the problem is likely the CKP sensor. Have a shop that can scan for fault codes on this older module run a scan of the system, if the sensor is failing then it should show up as a fault code.
