It sounds like you aren't using it enough and the battery is losing power. Invest in a battery charger, they are about $20. Mine has 6 amp for a full charge or 2 amps for a trickle charge. charge the battery overnight when you know you are going out. Put it on charge at least every couple of weeks. Lead Acid batteries need to be kept fully charged.
Something may be draining the battery faster than normal. That is called 'parasitic draw'. Hard to diagnose, but can be done.
If the battery does go completely flat, you need to reset the security system.
Finally, many car electrical systems need a full 13 volts to start due to the electronics.
Good luck Kristin.

What is the DTC - diagnostic trouble code ? No code tells you a part is bad . Diagnostic testing procedures are given for each code the vehicle can set . Your vehicle can set numerous code's for the electronic throttle control an not one of them tell's you out right to replace the throttle body or the APP sensors . Looking at factory service repair info for the code an doing diagnostic testing befor replacing any parts should be done.
The throttle actuator control (TAC) system delivers improved throttle response and greater reliability and eliminates the need for mechanical cable. The TAC system performs the following functions:
• Accelerator pedal position sensing
• Throttle positioning to meet driver and engine demands
• Throttle position sensing
• Internal diagnostics
• Cruise control functions
• Manage TAC electrical power consumption
The TAC system components include the following:
• The accelerator pedal position (APP) sensors
• The throttle body assembly
• The throttle actuator control module
• The powertrain control module (PCM)
Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor
The accelerator pedal assembly contains 2 individual APP sensors within the assembly. The accelerator pedal position (APP) sensors 1 and 2 potentiometer type sensors each with 3 circuits:
• A 5-volt reference circuit
• A low reference circuit
• A signal circuit
The APP sensors are used to determine the pedal angle. The control module provides each APP sensor a 5-volt reference circuit and a low reference circuit. The APP sensors then provide the control module with signal voltage proportional to pedal movement. APP sensor 1 signal voltage is low at the rest position and increases as the accelerator pedal is applied. APP sensor 2 signal voltage is high at the rest position and decreases as the accelerator is applied.
Throttle Body Assembly
The throttle body assembly consists of the throttle body, the throttle position (TP) sensors, and the throttle actuator motor. The throttle body functions similar to a similar to a conventional throttle body with the following exceptions:
• An electric motor opens and closes the throttle valve.
• The throttle blade is spring loaded in both directions and the default position is slightly open.
• There are 2 individual TP sensors within the throttle body assembly.
The TP sensors 1 and 2 are potentiometer type sensors each with 3 circuits:
• A 5-volt reference circuit
• A low reference circuit
• A signal circuit
The TP sensors are used to determine the throttle plate angle. The control module provides each TP sensor a 5-volt reference circuit and a low reference circuit. The TP sensors then provide the control module with signal voltage proportional to throttle plate movement. Both TP sensor signal voltages are low at closed throttle and increase as the throttle opens.
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.
When you unplugged the alt,did you disconnect the larger alt output power wire? That.s usually where a power draw will be in an alt as this wire is connected to the diodes.
You have a parasitic draw on the battery , Testing to find the draw isn't too hard ,all you need is a DMM - digital multi-meter . Test for voltage drop over the fuse's . I know GM vehicles had instrument cluster problems that would cause this problem , but test first . Watch these videos .
The BEST Way TO Perform Parasitic Draw TestChevrolet Truck Battery Dies Overnight Part
Doesn't use a fuse , ues a circuit breaker . These very rarely go bad .The right rear door works ? Uses same circuit breaker as front passenger door. The power windows an locks on your vehicle are controlled by electronic control modules . FPDM - front passenger door module , I would look for a broken orange wire inside the flex boot from the body to the front right passenger door . This is power supply to the passenger door module . Do you know what wiring diagrams are ? Free here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb
Not to question your ability, if you listen from the drivers seat while driving, just do yourself a favor, check the rear brakes, funny how sound travels and tricks the mind
Just a question. Does the truck do this after the truck is warmed up. If not this is a temp. issue and can be a few items. Generally this is an electric switch issue. Remove the fuse from the system when you shut it off for the night and see if it still jumps to 4x4 mode.

I looked at your owners manual.
F pmp in the circle should be fuel pump relay, under hood fuse block. I you don't have an owners manual, my.gm.com
Has your owners manual, you can look at it for free.
Being and electronic speedometer, it will surge a touch when engine first started or switch first turned on, that's normal, but the only reason it is not working while driving is most likely a faulty speed sensor. Code should tell you this with a reader.
