Does the starter engage? Or does the solenoid just click? I would look to be sure you have very good connections on the heavy ground and +12 line to the starter. Make sure the battery connections are good.
I have also seen problems where the starter physically binds when mounted.

check your batt voltage
to see if your battery still good should be 12.6 volts no less than 12.4 volts you may have a short some were a some serious resistance in your cables when your car is running check your voltage at the alternator should be around 14.6 or higher then check your voltage at the batt while the car is still running should be the same if you have a really big difference then your battery cables have a lot of resistance /corrosion

Water pump, thermostat, clogged radiator core, bad fan, blown head gasket.

Any of those can lead to overheating.

There are not two separate belts for W/AC and WO/AC, there is just one and in the place of the AC pump there is an "AC delete pulley". You can buy these pulleys in the aftermarket, contact a local NAPA or Carquest for details about the part which is about $30.00 US
