Engine stumbles, no check engine light comes on
Check engine light does not have to come on unless the misfire monitor reaches a certain count. There it will pend a misfire code, and who know what code you get may just tell you P0300 random misfire,we know its misfiring .But we got the symptoms, The 2.2 is sensitive to water in the fuel system when you change the fuel filter were you able to get a sample of at least some.Where the ignition coil sits do you hear any arc at idle(in park) that can tell you you will need sparkplug wires. you can also use a spray bottle of water and spry it on the wire.see if that exposes any arc from the sparkplug wire. The fuel pressure on the 2.2 has to be 56-62 psi. This is the necessary pressure. Also the TPS can cause you to stumble intermittently and this is a common failure on the 2.2 engines
Where is the fuse for the lights inside a 2002 s10
It appears that there is only one fuse for the entire interior light system which is located in the main fuse box in the engine compartment. It is a 20 amp fuse. Specifically which lights are not working? The instrument lights go through a dimmer switch on the control panel, some of the other lights are controlled by an interior light control module which is activated by the door switches.
I have a chevy s10 2002,the headlights do not turn
If it's not the bulbs, be sure to check them, might be dual filament and the high beam wire is fine but the headlight one is shot, one bad wire would cause both headlights not to work.
Hopefully that's the problem, if not, it could be blown fuse/short in the wire. Try checking power/ground at the bulb to reduce the possible problems. If it has both with the headlights "on" then it's the bulb, if it's missing one then follow the wire for any irregularities.
They sometimes pass the wires under the flooring right near the drivers feet, which is a perfect place for water/salt to seep in and corrode wires.
I cannot get the ingnition cylinder out after i release the lock on my 2002 chevy s10. It releases and only slides out about a quarter of an inch. Any suggestions?
Place rags on the floor underneath the cylinder to catch any fluid.
2
Loosen the tube nuts connecting
the brake lines to the master cylinder using a flare nut wrench. Pull
the lines away and either plug their open ends with rubber or wrap
plastic bags around them to prevent contamination.
3
Remove the rear wheel anti-lock
(RWAL) module if the truck has this type of brake system. The module is
located near the cylinder; release its clip with a thin pointed tool and
remove it from its mounting bracket. You don't need to remove its
electrical connectors; just lay it somewhere safe.
4
Remove the two mounting nuts for
the master cylinder, then set aside the isolation/dump valve and the
bracket for the RWAL module. Make sure you don't bend or kink the
hydraulic lines as you disconnect these and remove the module. Remove
the reservoir cover and diaphragm from the cylinder and properly dispose
of any fluid remaining in the module.
5
Fill the master cylinder and its
reservoir with brake fluid and bench-bleed the cylinder. With the
cylinder balanced, hold your fingers over the brake line holes, press
the piston with a large Phillips screwdriver while removing your finger
from one hole, then place your finger back on the hole before releasing
the piston. Repeat this multiple times and cap the holes afterward.
6
Install the new cylinder on the
vehicle in reverse order of removal. Remove the caps on the holes and
the brake lines before connecting the lines to the cylinder.
7
Bleed the braking system. Attach
a clear tube to the bleeder valve on one brake caliper and open the
valve as another person presses down on the brake pedal to remove air.
Repeat this for all of the brakes and make sure the pedal feels firm and
not spongy afterward
Tachometer bounces up and down in my 2002 Chevy
My guess would be the transmission bands are slipping. This would cause what you describe. First check the transmission fluid and make sure it is full. Check it according to the instructions in your owners manual. If you only had an issue with the tach I would suspect a loose ground wire, but considering the transmission is acting up you more than likely have a transition issue that is just being reflected in the tach.
My 02 s-10 zr2 will
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action please try this. You may have system failure after the transmission ran out of fluid. Please add fluid to the transmission then remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. or more before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operation.
If the problem still persist, there's nothing I can suggest but a replacement.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
