Dash light?

your dash lights are not getting either power or ground. one place that they could be losing power is through dimmer switch on dash. to find out if there is power to that switch you can get a test light at the car parts store, will set you back about five bucks, and then touch one end of test light, the sharp pointy end, to the wire to the dimmer switch and push the pointed end through the insulation to the conductor while touching the other end to ground. ground is going to be pretty much any metal you can get to inside the car, like a screw on the dash trim or something like that. if the light lights, there is power to the switch. if you have power to the switch but not through it then you probably have a bad dimmer switch. that would kill your dash lights.

Where is the block drain plug for a Prizm 2000?

If you can't find one, it may not be there. (rarely used item) If you need to drain block find an easily accessible Welsh (freeze out)plug and remove it. Usually just flushing through the normal inlet/outlets for the radiator is sufficient for most purposes.

Passenger door locked shut

You will have to remove the door panel with the door closed, the linkage to the lock cylinder is most likely broken or come off, with the door panel off you can manually open door and repair problem, the parts are cheap, the labor isn't.

Front headlight Removal

This is not an easy task, there are two bolts and a clip that need to be removed, then you need to take the headlight assembly completely out of the frame of the car and pull the light bulb out of the back. The clip on the front took two of us to remove. One holding a screwdriver to the clip while the other moved it side to side til it came free. Good Luck. The light bulb has a stupid *what looks like a paperclip bent out of shape* around the back of the socket, and when removed can spring away so be cautious!

some hubcaps are threaded through the bolts, so you may have to jack the car up and take the nuts off the wheel to remove the hubcap. My winter tires for my honda civic is like that.

Sluggish when taking off

I had a very similar problem with my prizm, and it was mass air flow sensor. They cleaned it out, and now shes back to running good! It could also be an O2 sensor, or a regulator.

Good luck!

Removing door panel with door closed

It varies with each model, but there will be hidden screws and then spring clips, I would let the dealer do it, otherwise you may ruin a $400-500 door panel

Check Engine Light on 2000 Prizm

Most likely replacing the O2 sensor will fix this code, but that is not 100%, it could be other issues like a vacuum leak or a MAF sensor. The O2 is the one in front or on the engine side of the catalytic converter.

1st give me the code, it may have taken a month for the system to recognize the problem again, it depends on the type of driving you do, in other words the problem did not go away.

Spark plugs

Hi..
Good. The spark plugs, Are located on top of the engine. On each cylinder.
Some cars come with a plastic cover on top of the Engine and you will need to remove to see the Ignition wires. Remove the ignition wires and with a 5/8 socket you will remove the spark plugs.

Be careful Don't drop, because the gap can be out of calibration.
Replace the Ignition wires if need.

Ok. if you have more questions let me know.

Thank you for use fixya..
