Cranks up but runs rough for a few seconds then

It sounds to me like you've jumped timing. And if thats the case you will need a complete timing service along with a full service tune up.

Loud bang, then drop in power, now car running rough!

Get a compression tester and find out if you blew a cylinder. You'll need to test all cylinders. Your most likely running on 7 cylinders instead of 8 or 5 instead of 6 if you have the V-6.

Ive changed almost every component on my car that

Hello there, sounds pretty frustrating. Before it broke down was there a check engine light? Or is there reason to suspect the timing chain like overspeeding the engine or just cutting off while running? Did you have the trouble codes read out or read them out yourself? You need four things for the engine to run. Air, fuel, spark, compression. First check and make sure there are no retrictions blocking the incoming air. Then simply turn your key to the run position but do not try to start, listen for a hum or whine coming from the rear of the vehicle. This will be the electric fuel pump running. This will tell you you probably are getting fuel pressure to your injectors. If you are to this point on the checklist we need spark. Now are you saying you do not get spark at the number 1 plug or all plugs? If you have changed these parts, Ignition module, coils, plug wires, spark plugs then I would suspect crank sensor if timing chain is good. It is rare to lose compression on newer motors unless overheated badly, timing chain broken or jumped teeth, How many miles? If very high mileage then maybe compression. If it is none of these things it may be something more serious with the ecm or something very simple that was looked over. First before any of this though, check all fuses and then check codes, a DTC may point you directly to the problem, even the air mass meter can cause the vehicle to not run.

98 camaro, radiator fans not working only off and

Although rare, it is possible that the fan motor is bad. I don't know if the connectors are the same or if there is only one connector for the fans. My point is try to switch the connectors and turn the a/c on. One fan runs off the coolant temperature sensor and the other off the a/c hen the compressor is running. It basically senses a load on the engine and engages the fan. The one that works has power to it so you know if it does not run the other fan, the problem is the fan. If you have the V6, it may just not be getting hot enough for the fan to kick on. If you have the 5.7L, I would definitely confirm the fan is good because those engines are designed to run hot and they get up to running temperature very quick. Please rate me on this answer.

I am not getting any fire to my plugs

check high voltage wires for cracks, chafing or melting, also replace the plug. try turning the engine over with a known good plug connected but not installed in the cylinder to confirm no spark. if there is spark but you still have a missfire, then you have a dead cylinder. if no spark, its the coil or coil module. replace plugs and wires 1st. its cheap compaired to sensors and modules

How to change a head gasket in a v8 350 5.7 liter

don't attempt it without a manual with specs, you will need special tools like a torque wrench and an angle meter, you will have to get the head measured and probably resurfaced, also do it in a clean enviroment, and make sure all is spotless during reassembly, even a fingerprint on mating surfaces can cause premature failure of gaskets

Help with my 98 camaro

hi, are you saying when you turn the key to start the car nothing happens and it dont even turn the engine over so it can try to start if you mean this then you need to start thinking of starter motor problems and replace if needed.

now if your engine is turning over but it wont fire up then this could be crankshaft sensor, faulty ecu, faulty coil, it could be a number of things you could throw money at it and not find the fault your best bet would be a diagnostic check done to see what codes where thrown up as having errors this would then give you the exact fault and would save you wasting money on parts you may not need

6 long flashes on check engine light

replace plugs and wires if hasn't been done! you can also purchase a obd11 diagnostic tool to pull up the codes to see exactly what the codes tell you. Some automotive stores might even do this for you at no charge.
