1995 Chevrolet Tahoe - Page 5 Questions & Answers
95 tahoe wont start
Check the tune up? Check wires for voltage leaks and distributor cap and rotor for corrosion. When you are able to start it spray the wires with soapy water and see if you can see or hear them arching. Do the same with the cap.
Were is fuse box located
One fuse box is in engine compartment under hood on the drivers side and is marked fuse box right on top of it and one fuse box is located on side of dash board on driver side. Open drivers door and you will see it. Bottom side of covers have maps and are labeled for what each fuse is for and what size amp to use. "Do not use a higher amp fuse than it says to use"!! Or you could burn up wiring!
1995 Tahoe inside door handle doesn't open the door
The inside door handle itself is probably broken. There is a weak point where the handle joins at the pivot(my 99 Chevy work truck handle broke so many times that I got fed up and fabricated my own handle from solid steel!) I believe this part is the same one in a 95 model year truck. The assembly (handle and surrounding plastic stuff) is only a few bucks(try RockAuto.com).The handle usually will break completely off when it starts to crack, but not always.
My 95 chevey tahoe is blowing hot air and the heater is not even on,what could be causing this?
Most likely, you have a defective temperature actuator. (See diagram below) You can see/get to the actuator by removing the glove box assembly. Turn the ignition on and change the temperature control from hot to cold and/or cold to hot. Watch the white ring on the actuator (See picture) and see if it turns. If it does not turn, replacing the actuator is very likely to fix your problem. (There are other things that can cause this to not work, but most of the time, it is the actuator itself)If the actuator is working and the temperature coming out the vents does not change, then the blend air door is broken. (This is the part that the actuator moves.) This is also fairly common and requires removal of the entire HVAC housing assembly to repair.
My 95 Chevy Tahoe z71 model with a 350I noticed
Before spending money check your vacum line going to accutator switch that is located under the hod on firewall. Originaly what it does is switch your system from floor, windshield and dasboard to blow te air in these directions. If it is stuck in one position and even when you try to switch the position lever moves but nothing is hapenning indicates that vacum line is broken.Let me know what did you find!
