Where is the plug to the check enginge light

GM OBD connectors are under the dash in the driver's area on most cars.Keep in mind,an '89 is an OBD1 system(GM specific)---OBDII (standard for all vehicles in the U.S.) wasn't in use until 1996,so you will need to use a shorting clip to read the codes through the check engine light, unless you have a GM compatible scan tool.(I can't remember which two pins in the connector need to be shorted, but I do remember they are side by side to each other in one of the corners of the plug).

Could be a relay or other electrical issue. You say it has fuel pressure and spark, if that were true it should run.So it either does not have enough spark to fire the plugs under compression, or not enough fuel pressure going thru the injectors, or not at the right time. You might want to check for trouble codes in the computer. There has to be something missing from the equation when it won't start. You may have to check all of the plugs for fire and try some carb cleaner sprayed into the intake to boost fuel supply to find the issue.

The fuel pump relay is located on a bracket on the right front corner of the engine compartment. A 12-volt test light will verify whether or not power is getting to the relay. Some fuses are not marked in the fuse box.

How do i tell weather i have a ja1,ja2,or ja8 braking system

They should be able to find out by taking the vehicle identification number into them. Copy the number out of the drivers side window plate down in the corner and call them with it before you go so you know they have the right one.
