Transmission problems
yeah there is a problem in first gear and reverse gear shifting thats all due to transmission system is of cable type
I have a 2005 grand am 3.4 liter. good battery,
get a new battery, if you suspect it is something else here is a simple test...Turn your headlights onto high beam and then try to start the car, if you cannot see the light from sitting in the driver seat (say on a wall at 5 meters) the battery is cactus
Car shuts off when turning the wheels
you dont say whether you have done any repairs to the engine that can maybe interfere with the engine timing. other vehicles will shut down engine if you try to drive while your timing is out,or there is a malfunction of some sort in any of engine control component
Freeze plug replacing
You are pretty brave lady at 64 to attempt replacing a freeze plug.Is the engine V6 type crosswise mounted? Then the location of the plug would not be easiest to work on. Do you absolutely hae to replace it? Is it corroded to the point where it leaks coolant through a pinhole? You would need to drain the coolant first by disconnecting the lowest located hose, that carries coolant in/out the radiator. It is to be done on a cool engine, of course, to be safe. Remove radiator cap after disconnecting the hose to promote the flow. You have to catch the draining fluid into a pan to reuse later, if possible, or replace the fluid afterwards. Unfortunately for this task there is no easy way... Otherwise feel free to ask more... God bless you.
Change spark plugs
This is going to depend a lot on the engine and what kind of vehicle. For the most part, it should be "doable".Some V-6 engines require taking the front motor mounts loose and "rocking" the engine forward to get to the plugs in the back.Make sure to put a piece of tape with plug number or some way to know exactly which plug wire goes on which plug. Hope this was somewhat helpful.
P0302 and low coolant
Hi there:DTC P0302 - Misfire Detection Monitor - Cylinder 2 Misfire A misfire is nothing more than a lack of combustion, which can be
caused by poor fuel quality or metering, low compression, lack of spark
or unmetered air entering the engine. There are other possible, less
obvious causes as well, such as uncommanded Exhaust Gas Recirculatin
(EGR), flow.Other possible causes:* Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
* Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
* Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
* Incorrect Fuel Pressure
* EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports
* Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues* Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
- Faulty spark plugs
- Faulty coil or related wiring - Ignition module or related wiring issues - Ignition related sensor faults or wiring issuesHope this helps.
Service engine light on
First you need to take it to autozone and get them to retreive the diagnostic trouble codes from the computer for you then we'll beable to go from there. There is no charge for that.
