Brake lights
Have you checked for a burned out fuse? Tail lights also (typically) have two filaments. One for parking lights and another for when the brake switch near/on the brake pedal is in the on position. This switch is another possible source of your lack of illumination. Reverse lights should/might be on a different bulb. If you have already verified that the bulbs and fuses are good, try changing/adjusting the physical switch at the brake pedal.
I need to change out
No you do not go in from here ,lift boot lid up and now look behind the light area and their is no doubt a cover of some description ,look sorry iam a europoeon mechanic who has never seen this model car so bear with me here ,well behind the matting or a plastic cover is access to the back of the light so you have no need to remove the whole light unit ,now behind this interior trim is the back of the light cluster and this comes out,now exactly how you will have to look to see but most modern cars have a plastic clip/lever or two of them one either side so you flick the clips and take the bulb cluster out complete then you quite easly change the bulb in question now a euroepon vehicle uses bulbs with a metal fixing cap but a lot of american cars use them funny expensive capless bulbs .That is all their is to it somewhere inside the boot is a access panel and behind this is the bulb cluster in the back of the light but i cannot explain anymore as i just do not know exactly how to release the bulb cluster for this model .
Temp gauge not working on
This is a known problem with 2010 and later vehicles the little motor inside the cluster is bad, there are many people out there repairing them , before spending money i would call the dealer and see if it is covered , even though the car is out of warrenty im pretty sure they have an extension on the radio,on-star, navigation, and instrument cluster
I own a 2005 Bonneville.
This is a typical problem on this generation of Bonneville. It's most likely the blower motor gone bad. Mine was bad at 80,000 miles.
The fan is located under the passenger side dash.
Remove the panel under the dash; two small screws(?).
There may be a couple wires to unplug from this panel.
The motor is right up to the firewall, where the passenger toes would be.
Unplug the wires from the fan.
Remove the rubber vent hose. It's a right angle hose about the size of a large thumb.
Remove three screws from the fan and the fan should fall out.
