Service engine soon light 2004 Alero
if it truly set code for "loose fuel cap" or po455 large leak, then tightening the cap and driving a couple days should reset on its own. if not then get it checked for free at autozone and report back with code # and can help from there. they'll ck for free but are not allowed to reset.
Is there a kill switch on a 2004 oldsmobile alero 2.2L?
Probably not but it wouldn't be to difficult to install a kill switch depending on how you want it function. Two main ways that i would do this is 1 to kill just the fuel pump so the car will try to start with no luck of actually turning over or 2 on the ignition coil so the car will not try to start but auxiliary will be on. All that is needed is a decent on/off switch so basic soldering skills and a wiring diagram for your car =)
Replacing alternator
Hard to say.Depending on which engine you have, the alternator may be difficult to get to. You would need to remove the belt, disconnect the battery, and remove the mounting bolts.
