I have a s320 cdi
A easy fix is to put a battery disconnect on the negative post if the battery. Somewhat of a pain but cheap fix for now. Most of the time there is a light that stays on all the time.

Cannot open trunk
The right hand lower button on the key fob opens/unlocks the trunk.
There is an interactive handbook at this address. If this fails consult your dealer, the fob may be faulty. There is also an S class owners forum for more help.
