Car starts up fine when the cooling fans kick on

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you have the car scanned to know the fault code. But I do suspect that the problem will be on the sensor of the fan. It can be faulty which may cause the car die, one reason is short circuitry. You may need to replace the sensor to correct the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

I would make sure that all of the ground wires are in good shape, including the one that probably goes under one of the bolts that holds the starter in to the bellhousing. This is indicative of a grounding problem starting to pop up, which will happen with a vehicle of this age.

How to change original equipment headlight for

To change the headlight bulb on a 1993 Chevy Corvette, you must stop the headlight in the "up position" Sometimes you have to do this manually, with the over-ride on the headlamp motor. It's best to do this with the hood up. There are two screws in front of the headlamp on the bottom that must be removed. Then turn the assembly to the partially down position to remove two more screws; one on either side toward the rear of the assembly. This will enable you to remove the cover. Then simply remove the screws that hold the chrome frame around the bulb and replace. Don't touch the new bulb with your hands (wear rubber gloves) Reverse procedure for install. CAUTION: Be sure not to mistake the adjustment screws for the retaining screws, as your headlamps will be out of alignment
