Driverside door will not open

Pull off door panel. Look at mechanism. Work handle from inside. There is probably a small plastic adapter broken on the linkage.

I have a miss in

Hi,
Chances are this just a random engine misfire caused by bad spark plugs or bad ignition wires. Basically get a tune up and replace the ignition wires (spark plug wires) and your problem should be solved. Have a good day.

92Buick Century Special 3.3 automatic has engine service light on vehicle stopped but running and hear big bangs every so often that jolted the car.It sounded like transmission was trying to change g

Sounds like we are back where we started (arrggghhhh!!!). What did the mechanic do when you last took it to him? I found out that the "quad drivers module" is actually an electronic switch inside the ECM. Also when the car throws the code for this the problem normally is a bad wire connection or broken wire on the circuit that is flagged. Perhaps some wire chasing is in order here from the transmission to the ECM. I haven't yet found any references for testing the actual solenoids in the trans. If the modules are bad the ECM has to be replaced ( more on that later).Your transmission should have a vacuum actuated modulator to assist in ger changes. You should be able to find a vacuum line running from the intake down the front driver's side of the engine disappearing in behind the starter area. This hooks to the modulator valve on the trans. Pull it off and check for oil in the line and the valve. If there is any, replace the modulator valve. There should also be a cable running from your throttle body back to the transmission. this is the "kickdown" cable. Unhook it from the throttle body and get some lubricant into it, work it back and forth so it slides eaily and freely. With age these can get stiff and not slide like they should. Has the trans fluid and filter been changed that you know of and how long ago? This should be done every roughly 80,000 miles. This could help as well. Check the pan for filings when you do. Take a look at this web site as well, "usa.transdoctor.com". It has a list of common easy fixes for transmission problems that are car specific. Follow the directions for yours.Regarding the O2 sensor, this code,13, says open circuit or no activity. There is no contact or sporadic contact between the O2 sensor and the ECM.The wire should be checked to make sure it is firmly attached on both ends and there is no bare spots in the insulation. It may be too that the new one is defective.I found code 31 as "gear position switch error". That's the PRNDL on the column. This reading wrong could create a lot of problems. I would be checking that wire harness very carefully. Perhaps the car slamming into gears could be the result of this.I also found a couple web sites that you should look at in regards to that code 42, ignition bypass circuit error in the EST. 1. "automotivehelper.com/topic185621.htm"2. "car.forums.com/s9/t5454.html"I'm thinking these could explain a lot of your problems even though your car doesn't throw all the same codes. It would probably be a good idea to check that cam sensor magnet at the same time.If you think that replacing the ECM is the answer go to "justanswer.com/buick/2010-07-questions.html". When the list comes up, count down 22 questions and there is an awesome answer, complete with diagrams for this procedure. Hope this helps Richard.

Getting a light color from power steering unit.It is not very pink in color anymore.Someone in buickforums wrote me saying may be getting coolant thru power steering cooler. What needs to be looked at

Power steering fluid comes in two colors, one of which is amber and the other color is a pink/red combination. When power steering fluid becomes much darker than when it is new, that means it is time to change it. Some vehicles have a light brown power steering fluid. just change the fluid and go from there ! use a turkey baster to remove fluid in power steering pump. refill the pump with new fluid, make sure air is out of system. you may need to bleed system when done. there will be some old fluid in system. but this is ok. to get air from system, just jackup front of car. move steering wheel from left stop to the right stop. do this a few times and be sure fluid is up in tank.

92 buick century when i start it up the idol goes way high like its going to blow put in drive it jerks and eats alot of gas

more then likely it is the IAC thats bad. clean or replace the IAC. more causes are--- erratic idle (including high idle speeds) can be caused by a faulty throttle position sensor (TPS) - a common problem. and check for a bad vacuum hose also. good-day ! clean IAC first ! to see if this helps then go from there.

Need to replace thermostat for a 3.3 liter buick century motor. 92 model.

when engine is cold,.Remove the bolts holding the coolant outlet housing to the engine, using a socket wrench and an 8 mm socket. On cruise control equipped models, you'll need to remove the vacuum modulator bracket from the coolant outlet housing with the socket and wrench first.

Pull the coolant outlet housing off the engine, by hand. Shove a rag into the outlet housing to prevent debris from entering the engine.

Clean the sealing surface on the engine and housing, using a gasket scraper. Wipe the area clean with a rag. Apply a 3 mm bead of RTV gasket maker into the gasket groove on the housing. Place the new thermostat into the housing, making sure it has the same orientation as the old thermostat. Bolt the housing to the engine, using the socket wrench and socket (and reattach the vacuum modulator if you removed it earlier). Start the engine and let it run until the temperature gauge reaches operating temperature. Fill the coolant overflow tank to the "Hot Fill" mark with a 50-50 mixture of Dexcool and distilled water. Inspect for leaks around the coolant outlet housing. good-day ! drain radiater if need be to change thermostat.

Still have check engine light problem.I replaced

Richard, I've been racking my brain about this and it dawned on me how to retrieve your codes without a reader. With OBD1, there is a 12 pin plug-in under your dash . It should be around the fuse box area. It's long and skinny, 2 rows of 6 pins each. It should also be lettered and /or numbered. Two pins should be marked "A" and "B". Use a piece of wire and jump between the A and B. This will trigger the check engine light to flash in a sequence. This sequence will be the engine code. One long flash is a 10, so 2 long flashs will be 20, etc. Short flashs are 1's, so 3 short flashs would be 3. The codes are all 2 digits.so if you have more than 1 series of long and short flashs, there is more than one code. If I remember right the key needs to be on for this. With the codes in hand, simply type "1992 Buick engine codes" into your search engine and there will be several sites that will list the codes free. Hope this helps.

1993 buick century ac by pass

If the comprtessor itself is bad, you can unplug the activation wire located up fron of the unit, this will allow the clutch bearing to turn separate of the compressor. If the clutch bearing is the cause you will have a problem, these belt systems are so crazy that it would be almost impossible to select a belt to do what you want.

On my 1992 Buick Century the engine light stays on

I'm not sure if your car is OBD1 or OBD2 for code readers, but disconnecting the POSITIVE battery terminal for a couple minutes should reset the computer. If the light comes back on then you need to get the codes read. If you live in the US then you can get the codes read for free at O'Reilly's or AutoZone. Go from there. also most auto parts stores sell smaller held help models for around $100, you can use yourself. then type in "92 Buick Century codes" on Google and you will be able to find a site that will give you the problem for that number. Hope this helps.

You must have OBD1 then. If you can't get one at the auto parts store, try CraigsList, e-Bay or kijiji. They can usually be found on one of those sites. hope this helps.
