Why wont car start with jump?
This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a lock through it? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/
How do I move the tension pulley to loosen the water pump belt?
loosen of the big nut that holds the pulley on the shaft behind the pulley there will be a long bolt that you screw up or down and it moves the pulley shaft
If it is a ford product it may have a hex key in the center of the pulley shaft in which case you tiun that and the pulley will run up or down a toothed track
remember to tighten the nut after tensioning the belt
Does the fluid for a
I would drain your power steering pump, even if I had to take it off and dump the fluid! Yes, you do need to use power steering fluid, but what will get you in the most trouble is if you mix your fluids because then they work against each other.
While some people will use transmission fluid in a power steering pump in an emergency, I always recommend they drain it out and use the proper fluid in the proper place.
Check a bad battery connection
not sure what you mean...are the cables clean? are they tight? try to wiggle them back and forth to see if they move....if they do they need to be tightened....but best way to do anything with a battery is to get it by Autozone or Advanced Auto who will check it for free for you, and they'll probably clean your terminals for you too and let you know if the connections are bad.
