Oil warning light on -- oil level in sump okay
There is a sensor in the oil pan. It measures the amount of oil in there. It may have gone bad, That or you may have a piece of trash ( something blocking the sensor), just enough to not get a proper reading. Just before your next oil change, you and add some Marvels Mystery, or oil type flush fluid, to the oil to help clean the engine and oil pan. If that doesn't work, time to change a sensor. Dealer item (sorry, it costs). Then drop the pan, change the gasket, clean the pan and lowers(bottom of the engine, where pan is), change sensor, and gasket, remount pan, fill with oil and thats it
2003 Silhouette. hit the brakes
Hi
under the brake pedal is a small switch, they are only plastic so if you hit it to hard they jam up and sometimes crak and break thus causing the wires to be connected constantly, it is tricky to get into the position looking up from under the pedals but once you can see it you will know exactly what to do.
Worth a mention that WD-40 can free them up if you have just jammed it that is.
Hope this helps

I bought a used radio
You definately have a problem. In order to unlock the radio you will need the VIN of the vehicle that you got it from. You will also need proof of where you purchaced it from. Take all this information to a GM dealer and they should be able to unlock the radio by entering an "Override" code to unlock the radio. Then they will have to program your Engine Control Module to accept the "Brodcast ID" of the replacement radio. This is all part of the antitheft system designed to keep someone from stealing your radio and using it in another car. If you can't get the VIN of the vehicle that it came out of, the dealer will not be able to help you because there are many different override codes and they will not know which one to use without the original VIN.
I press the gas from a complete stop and sometimes
Sounds like the Automatic Transmission "lock-up". If you haven't changed your filter and fluid in a while do that. There are some good additives to help the transmissions when they get old. Lucas was one I used. My APV got so hot in Palm Springs, CA I had to go in and get some additive before it would move. I loosened the line to the radiator to get a little fluid out and eventually went to a add-on cooling radiator, like you would for a towing vehicle. It seemed to quiet all the noises.
The vacuum modulator went out an other time - but that prevented the car from shifting up to second.
What is a level sensoring arm? should it need to
This arm is connected to the rear axle and the level sensor, the arm itself should only be replaced if it was broken some how. This arm moves up and down with suspension travel and if you load the vehicle or pull a trailer if tells the Control Module the level of the vehicle and it will adjust with air to the air shocks as it sees needed, to keep your vehicle level and safe.
Speedometer isn't working and engine
The speedometer problem may be caused by the speedometer cable
binding or the speedometer head itself. If it is the cable, other than the uneven
speed reading, it should cause no problems. If it is the head, it may break the
new cable.
Remove the part of the transmission housing that the
sensor plugs in to. You probably have a broken gear or it has slipped on the shaft.
I took at a look at the speedo problem and what it seems to be is a
failed IPC {instrument panel cluster}, the cluster {speedo} is also a
microprocessor getting the speed inputs from the PCM (powertrain
Computer) the PCM gets inputs from the VSS (vehicle speed
sensor). Usually if you have a failed VSS or PCM your cruise control
would stop working, the cruise module gets inputs from both the PCM and
the VSS, in your case the cruise works so that means all is well with the
PCM and the VSS, looks like the IPC just had a failure; replace the IPC
or send it out for repair, the local dealership can send those out for
repair.
Hope helps.

Car won't start had issue
it's a no spark or no fuel problem. do you hear the fuel pump humming when you turn key to on position? if you do then pumps working. have you pulled a plug wire off engine and put a screw driver in wire and grounded to motor while turning engine over to see if it's getting any spark? have you checked all the fuses under the hood in the black box? i hope this helps!!
I'm installing a Prestone coolant
with the engine running it is the hottest one, it is also the largest of the 2 small heater core hoses going to the firewall from the engine.
Power window wont go up is it the fuse or motor
Ok in my travels over the years of auto repairs I have yet to find an actual fuse that controlls the power windows, so here is my educated guess from what you are telling me here, the power window wont go up, usually it is the motor inside the door, sometimes it is the power window switch and rarely it is a bad connection or broken wire, so here we go; first press the poer window in the close position...with the dome light on(interior light) does the dome light dim a little wuith you pressing the window switch yet the window wont budge? If you said yes the light does flicker itt is safe to say the window switch is fine and the problem is the power window motor...part should be appro. 75.00-100.00 after market, if the window switch shows no signs of the interior light dimming ever so slightly, I suspect the window switch is at fault, replace the switch panel, most repair parts stores stock them if not get one ordered from the dealership.
Reset low brake fluid light after bleeding brakes
Check your brake fluid level, the low brake light reset it self when the fluid is at the right level.
If that did not help, inspect the wire leads to the sensor on the brake reservoir or replace the sensor if level is proper.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.
The van want start at times, it's like the battery
Check that the battery terminals are clean and shiny. One may remove both terminals and brush the contacts with a wire brush to clean until it's shiny as a new nickel.
Intermittent starting problems in hot weather can be caused by dirty connections.
