1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme - Page 8 Questions & Answers
It has rough idle when you first start it then straightens out after warming up
sounds like low compression at start up do to piston slap and not alowing car to warm up over the years before driving off. 3.1, 3.4, 3.5 motor pistons are exact size at operating temp there for cold temps at start up cause the pistons to slap the cylinder wall.. Gm engineers did this to reduce operating temp while driving by lowering friction in the cylinder. problem is most people these days start there cars and take off down the road..my suggesting would be to check piston compersion at operating temp and see if it meets spefications for ur mottor before replacing any other parts...
How do i read the check engine codes on a 95 cutlass supreme
If it is OBD-1 you can use a paper clip to jumper two terminals in the test plug under the dash, and then watch the check engine light flash. If it is OBD-2 you need a code reader or scanner. Most auto parts stores will read OBD-2 systems for free in hopes of selling you some parts.
Fuel pump
howdie check your starter wires? and then check your ground wire does it click when you try to turn it over?how many kms don,t change your fuel pump just yet maybe your fuel filter when was the last time you had a tune-up?those things first need to be looked at
Compressor wont kick in
it could be a fuse or if your refrigerant is low there is a low pressure cut out switch that will not allow your compressor to start.
Power window module
We don't know why you changed the module, but the master switch in the driver's door is often the problem. Of course you could have a blown fuse too. I would start there.
