make sure you check the simple things. like the fuel filter if they get plugged they will give low to no fuel pressure. plug wires if they haven't been changed for a while.plugs themselves will tell you lots take them out and check them to see how they look.

The code 12 usually just means the system is in diagnostic mode. The code 23 should be for the mat system, not map. Mat is manifold air temp. Are there any driveability issues? Does the vehicle start and run ok?

Internal pressure regulator on the fuel pump should hold for about a minute but some pressure loss is normal. However, on initial start-up, the pressure must be at operating pressure or the system wont work. I suspect the fuel pump is failing, it is an all too common problem for GM trucks and SUVs with mpfi fuel injection. IACs do not go out very often, usually there is a problem with vacuum leaks, dirty throttle assemblies.

Could be TPS sensor or IAC.

It is flooding (too much fuel, not enough air) maybe a vacuum system part isn't doing it's job

Points? Not since electronic ignition, about 30 years ago! I have a '79 Datsun pick-up, first year Datsun came out with fully electronic ignition. Chrysler first came out with electronic ignition, I think, and that was in the early '70's. Since then, points have become a thing of the past, and deservedly so. GM hasn't used points since 1974. Plug gap is .035 or .045 depending on which plugs you install.

check for battery voltages then if it is 12 v above pull out the the power window motor and test directly to the battery f the motor is working f it is working check for power supply maybe fuse blown or the main switch is malfunctioning!

you need fuel, compressen, and electrical , make sure you all of the above dose it make any noise like it is trying to start ?

first of all is there a check engine light thats on if there is take it to a auto parts store they can scan the computer and tell you what is wrong with it then you can descide if your going to fix it or pay to have it fixed the problem with fuel injected motors is there is a number of things that can cause the vechile to run like that anything from a dirty air filter to a bad or weak fuel pump but in most cases the engine light will come on and stay on or it will turn off either way the parts store can find what the computer will say.

hard brake pedal and the engine is idling rough usually indicates the power brake booster has gone bad. the booster has vacuum going to it from the engine so if the diaphragm in the booster starts leaking then it affects engine performance.
