Removal & Installation
Factory block heaters are not installed on these
models. If an aftermarket heater has been installed the following
procedure will most likely work. There are two basic types, one for the
oil and one for the coolant. The oil heater usually just slips into the
dipstick tube or replaces the oil drain plug. The following procedure is
for the coolant type.
-
Remove the negative battery cable.
-
Drain the cooling system.
CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind
that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are
quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in
puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity.
Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be
reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.
-
Remove the block heater in the same way as the freeze plugs. Some
heater units have a bolt that must be loosened or a V-Clamp that must
be removed to remove the heating element.
-
Disconnect the heater connector and remove the heater element.
To install:
-
Coat the new heater with sealant, then install the reverse order of removal.
-
Fill the engine with coolant, connect the battery cable. Start engine and check for leaks
Car runs for 1or 2 minutes then shuts down
Crank sensor in the engine could be becoming oil logged. works fine when cold. fails when it gets warm. accessable on the back of the engine between the engine and transmission.
Changing turn signal on front bumper
All front light bulbs should be accessible, you will need to remove the 2 headlight bulbs...be sure to match the amber color if your Ciera still has the original bulbs:) The side marker light bulbs are reachable and can be changed by removing the 1 hold down bolt too...:)
The interior door handle to my car is broken and I
your probably exactly right... this can be a rather difficult one to explain.. because im not sure how your door handle is set up.. best way to do it is take the door panel off by removing the few screws that are in the armrest, most likely one by the handle, and maybe a couple along the bottom of the door. once those are out the panel is also held with clips, i usuall start at the bottom corner off the door and work my way up tward the window, then across the bottom and up the front of the panel until its completely lose, lift it out, and you will be able to see the cable that goes to the handle, either the handle itsself broke, or the plastic clip that the cable sets in broke, or came un snaped.. if the clip is still there push, the rod back on it and snap it.. if its not.. well you will need one... hope this helps you out more than confusing you.
My 91 cutlass is not
Hi and welcome to FixYa!
You may have a faulty fuel pump. It may run fine but in any given time it will fail to give enough pressure to supply the engine with fuel that's why it dies.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Trying to find the engine
The ECM is located right behind the glove box. First remove the negative (-) battery cable. Then remove the front of your glove box, just a few small screws. The interior of the glove box is cardboard and will pull out after removal of screws. Then unplug the 3 electrical plugs and let them hang out of the way. Now, remove the bolts on the side of the bracket holding the ECM IN.
