A/C blows hot on passanger side

They shipped from the factory with too little refrigerant. Even the spec on the truck is wrong. Go to Pep Boys and get can AC Pro refrigerant with the meter attached. It is so easy a kid could do it... It costs about $40. Just follow the easy instructions. Just remember, the amount the truck calls for is wrong. This will make it right.

for these codes.

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

My Dodge 2005 Ram overheats

I see your post was a while ago. I hope this helps you or anyone ells having Dodge over heating issues.

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. I also owned a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. ALL of them had thermostat issues. When you replace the thermostat make certain you get the proper heat rating. If it is rated tool low, then the check engine light will trigger the code that the engine is not heating up fast enough. I also recommend going with a 'fail-safe' thermostat. These thermostats fail OPEN rather than closed. My 2002 RAM factory thermostat failed closed, built up pressure, then blew half the water out from under the radiator cap. This happened in less than 35k miles. The dealer replaced it. After a couple of years it failed again. Make sure you have 50/50 mix of anti freeze to water. This raises the boiling point of the water, makes it more efficient for cooling the engine, treats the water so it does not corrode and scale up the cooling system and helps keep the liquid from boiling off there by reducing the volume of fluid in the cooling system. Also, BOTH my 02 RAM and 05 caravan developed a leak in their radiators. They were slow leaks and I did not notice it until I did some standard checks and found the coolant was low, Most shops can run a pressure test for less than $40 to let you know if your radiator is leaking.

You should also make sure that your AC cooling fans is running. There are fuses and solenoids in the fuse box that can sometimes go out. When you AC is on this fans will turn on. If not, it could create a lot of extra heat.

When coming to a stop

It could be caused by a throttle body issue or an EGR valve problem, but it sounds more like your transmission torque converter clutch may be locking up. This can be cause several reasons. I'll list the most common. First check your transmission fluid. If its low it can cause the torque converter to lock up at low speeds. Next, if the transmission is a 545RFE the problem could be caused by the trans filter leaking at the seal. You will need to drop the trans pan and inspect the seal. There is a round filter and a flat one. The seal is up in the transmission where the flat filter plugs into the transmission. A new filter from Dodge will come with a new seal. These are the two most common causes of torque converter lockup. Try and slip it into neutral when you come to a stop and see if it dies. May be more of an indication of a torque converter lockup condition if it does.

I want to replace my

It would be hard for me to tell you exactly, but I can tell you what will work. Being everything is all together and in the vehicle, you will need to do this by feel. With the wheels off the ground, the brakes can't be dragging, you have the seal installed, put the yolk and nut on, preferably with a half inch drive impact, run the nut up until it barley starts to get tight. Then take both hands and turn the pinion yolk, you need to tighten the pinion nut a little at a time until it starts to get a little hard to turn using both hands, If the brakes are rubbing, you wont get the right feel. If you can't turn that yolk with both hands, it is to tight.

Engin light #po406 2005 ram

P0406 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High

Early Models : The EGR valve control the amount of exhaust gas routed to the intake manifold. Vacuum is applied to the EGR valve in response to the throttle opening. The vacuum control the movement of the taper valve connected to the vacuum diaphragm in the EGR valve.

zjlimited_230.gif

Late Models : The EGR volume control valve uses a step motor to control the flow rate of EGR from exhaust manifold. This motor has four winding phases. It operates according to the output pulse signal of the ECM. Two windings are turned ON and OFF in sequence. Each time an ON pulse is issued, the valve opens or closes, changing the flow rate. When no change in the flow rate is needed, the ECM does not issue the pulse signal. A certain voltage signal is issued so that the valve remains at that particular opening.

zjlimited_231.gif

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine hesitation

Possible causes
- Harness or connectors (EGR volume control valve circuit is open or shorted.)
- EGR volume control solenoid valve
- EGR temperature sensor and circuit

Possible solution
- Repair EGR harness or connector
- Replaced EGR volume control solenoid valve
- Replaced EGR volume control valve
When is the code detected?
- An improper voltage signal is sent to ECM through the valve

Hope helps.
