Possibly worn motor and trans mounts. Easy test is to open the hood and start the engine. Hold the brake tight and put the van in reverse, rev the engine slightly and look for the engine to rock, now keep holding the brake tight and switch from reverse to drive and again rev the engine slightly and look for the engine to rock the other way. If you get more than say a few inches of movement you should have your mounts changed.

Not sure why you have scanner readout, but the most likely culprit in the hard brake pedal/hard to stop category would be a faulty power brake booster.

There is a gasket between the engine exhaust header and the exhaust pipe that is probably damaged. Actually a simple fix for a backyard mechanic

check the exhaut may be plugged

Could possibly need a new thermostat, the thermostat opens and closes depending on the heat of the coolant. maybe also check your heating core. as well as the quality of you coolant.

what motor do you have? have you change the thermostat lately? check the 2 hose to the heater core ,and see if they are hot. if only one is hot then you have a clogged heter core

often normal door latches will wear out causing the door latch to not activate the "full latch". The full latch ends up moving further up and into the latch. the solution is to replace the latch or have it rebuilt.

I had the same problem and had it towed to the local dodge dealer. The problem was that it needed a new fuel pump. It's a fairly big job since the pump is located in the gas tank (what a brilliant idea). I had it done and it cost nearly $700. Still love the car!

Can you pull on the release handle and use a screwdriver to change the position of the latch?

When did this first begin to happen? Changed belt or installed different pulley? Chased same problem. Solved it by shimming the idler pulley out so that belt ran in the middle of the pulley. Check the wear marks on the pulleys to see if the belts are running to the outside.

Check the vacuum line going to the brake power booster, and check valve that goes into the booster (round thing behind the master cylinder). It sounds like you have a problem with vacuum, or the power booster may have gone bad.

no fuse for the lighting system for it works off a power invertor which steps up 2 volts to 110 volts. That will work direct so it the bulbs are not working check the power leads to the light with a volt meter. If power does show on the meter replace the light assembly
