Turns over but won't start
pull out one of the spark plugs plug it in to plug wire run a jumper wire to the body or hook of the plug to ground the jumper must go to a suitable ground. pull out pcv hose to prevent car from starting have an assistant turn over the engine while you check for a strong blue or purple spark if the spark looks white or yellow there is a weak ignition condition and this must be adressed, bad ignition module bad cap and wires, etc. do the cap and rotor first if the spark is weak. If there is a strong spark sometimes holding the gas pedal to the floor while turning over the car for no more than 10 seconds starts stubborn motors do not let up on gas if car begins to start not until the motor starts to rev up.
Handles on steering column
should be a column shifter.
they may have put a floor shifter in or put a used steering column in from a car with a column shift.
No spark
if check engine light is not coming on and you have no spark and no fuel pump there is a broken wire around your driver side shock tower behind the battery my wire was a white one it shut the hole system down it was burnt look for any small burn marks in the wire casing and test that wire it took me about 3 hours to find it good luck .
Car overheats
I would start with changing the thermostat out. You should be able to get that and change it yourself for around $20.
1993 dodge shadow timing belt
get yourself a Hanes repair manual for your car. These books helped me alot with my 1995 civic. I believe they also have a book for your shadow. The book contains everything that you could probably fix for your car. From engine rebuilding to chassis repair.
1993 Dodge Shadow...left turn signal won't flash
If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.
1993 Dodge shadow engine codes
need to change the pick up coil in the distributor it has i belive its a plug in with 2 wires black and white.i had the some problem the car would run for a few miles then would just turn off when hot then would start up the part ran me about 20 bucks
My right turning signal sometimes doesnt work. The
- Turn 4 way (hazard) lights on check to see that all lights are flashing if rear is not flashing suspect bad ground since 4way usually goes through brake light.
- If everything flashes you may have a bad flasher relay find it replace it.
- If light still will not flash check light socket by removing bulb & looking for burnt melted contacts or plastic. You find any of these problems consider replacing socket.
- If you do not find any problems with socket use a cheap test prob connect alligator clip to metal ground near socket with bulb out turn on blinker carefully touch each contact inside socket when you find the right contact prob should light up & blink.
- If you cannot get prob to blink move prob ground to new location do step 4 again.
- If you still get no blink start probing wires coming into socket until prob lights working away from socket.
- Ground is on the side of the socket when you look in it.
No brake lights
Ok, the wires are crossed and this may have blown a fuse and, also damaged the relay as well. i would look into these areas for the problem.
Turn signals dont work
Under the dashboard there is a fuse panel. First, check your fuses and make sure that they are not blown. If they are not, above the fuses tucked high up there are one or two round aluminum things. These are called flashers, this may likely be your problem, though usually with both sides not working it is probably a fuse.
