My dash is ticking and the dome and door lights are flashing; what could be wrong?

the ticking noise will be from a faulty relay and will not be covered by codes. At best you will have to locate the clicking relay and replace it . IT will have something to do with the interior lights ,door switches and may be the light control module.

Need key code via vin number

Your dealer should be able to do this, however if you have a security system VAT, you will need the system checked so you can get the correct key blank. The chip on the key creates a certain amount of Ohms of resistance, that matches your security system. If you use the wrong one the car will not start. There are methods to by pass, however you need your old key, even if its broken to do.

When you accelerate why is the car surging?

Probably I would check he fuel filter by the carburetor. There is probably some contaminants in it from bad gas and you need to exchange it. It could be a silver looking item with 2 ends with fuel hose attached to it. Hope this solves your problem.

Troubleshooting map sensor

You can remove the sensor and clean it, sometimes they will straighten out for a little while. Use brake cleaner to clean the sensor and gas film off the diaphragm in the small hole underneath that goes into the intake, DO NOT poke anything into that hole, or it will be ruined for sure! check the O-rings that seal it to the intake, replace if they look bad, coat with a small amount of motor oil to aid installation. Check electrical connection for corrosion, burnt wires, ect. Check vacuum hoses for cracks, splits, bad boot, holes, etc. Disconnect negative battery cable while you work on it, that will clear any codes stored that you have fixed and make the computer search for any new or different problem. No luck? - replace with new sensor. Also, check for intake manifold gasket leaks, that can cause the sensor to read wrong. With motor running, spray starting fluid (ether) around the intake gasket sealing areas. (not into throttle body) if it revs the motor up in a certain spot(s) try it a couple times there. If it continues to do that, replace the intake gasket.
