Radio code

they are saying that they can not discern the exact radio by the vin, and want to remove it to get its serial # and then access code......there is another vin ..body/paint /accessories codes that they could use (without removing radio) IMO..usually found in glove box or drivers door jam with the numbers they need....try calling another dealer and getting a parts guy to work with you to guide you to the numbers he needs...good luck

Power trunk not opening trunk

Check the release solenoid for power, open the trunk and have someone press the remote release button, does it make a kind of clunk noise at the latch area? If not check the fuses and the power to the release solenoid in the trunk.

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi

sounds like the drivers door actuator is playing up i sagest you try and put a new one in and go from the the only reason it stops cycling is due to the actuator over heating and the central looking stops to let it cool down.

this is not a uncommon problem with these cars if the drivers actuator doesn't fix it the pas anger one will but 9 times out of ten it is the drivers side

Starting problem

check your starter motor wiring first there should be a wire of aroung 5mm thickness bolted to the starter solenoid that is your power from battery the other is one small wire which clips on, this one tells it to"go" when you turn the key if either is loose it will work sumtimes, also check your battery connections are secure and motor to car earth(s) are secure

Hi there,

You are not alone. Here's how to get the code.
Copy down the VIN number of your vehicle and serial number of the radio (if you can get to it).
Call Mitsubishi. Ask for the service department.
Tell them your situation.
They will give you the code and procedure to enter it.
That's it!

SMOKE! Lots of oil gone!

At just about any auto part store, you can buy a bottle of "stop leak". There are a few different brands. Make sure the one you get is for oil.(they make it for radiators and transmissions, etc also...) You just pour it in where your oil goes, and it will help plug up any areas that the oil is leaking from. If it still persists, then you could have a much more serious problem on your hands. (also make sure your oil is not already topped off, when you go to try and pour the stop leak bottle in there! it will over flow)

Note: Your car may continue to smoke for a while, until it has finished burning off any oil that had already leaked out.

This is shannon with the 95 Mitsubishi diamante

The head gasket job I had to get for one of my cars, cost $1600! Once the repairs start coming... they don't stop! Get rid of the car as soon as you can.

In my experience (I've had a lot of used/older cars), it is much better to get a brand new car. There are affordable ones out there. Go for a dealer that offers rebates to use as down payments, and also a car that comes with a bumper to bumper warranty.

You also DO want "GAP" insurance! I've suffered the consequences for not getting it. It covers the full cost of the car, should there be an accident and your car is totalled. I was still making payments on my car that I no longer had, and the new car I bought, all because someone ran a red light in front of me. Auto repairs eventually broke me financially and resulted in a bankruptcy.

New cars are definitely the way to go. They are much more fuel efficient, They are safer, have great warranties, and the only thing you'll have to do is get gas and get your oil changes every 3 months.

My Mitsubishi Chariot Grandis gdi

You say that it attempts but fails. If it turns over, at a normal speed and tries to start and doesn't, check that the fuel is good and new fuel. Not fuel that has been in the tank for a long time. Check the fuel filter to see if it is clogged, Check the fuel injectors to see if they are all spraying fuel and there is enough pressure in the fuel lines. Check fuel pump for proper fuel pressure. High mileage engines check for compression in each cylinder. Possible bad ignition wires or ignition timing is off. Has the engine been steam cleaned recently. Is there water in the fuel? This gives you some things to check. Good luck.

The drivers door locked. After the alarm went off when I open drivers door without a key for mitsubishi diamente 2000 I lost the key and want to take the drivers door barrel out to make a key.

The barrels don't come out of the key lock assembly. It will be far simpler, easier and cheaper to get a new barrel and key from the dealer.

I want know the different wires under the steering column (starter wires) 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante

https://s8.postimg.org/p4gzjf8np/starter.jpg Click on the link. I don't know what kind of problem your having or what testing you have done? Your security system can effect your starter motor and other components as well. If the security system has a problem, cranking the starter motor will not let it start, because most systems also disable the fuel injectors as well. We can always jump something or bypass just to see if starter motor will crank the engine, but, if security issue, it won't help. Just my opinion. There are safety issues with jumping or bypassing something. Safety is your responsibility.
