2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Two different Locksmiths failed to program transponder key for it.

Question edited for clarity. Try an auto electrician. They have better scan tool computers and there may be an underlying issue with ECM, BCM or the Security Module. https://www.google.com/search?q=auto+electrician+near+me ..

Intermittent Flashing 4x4 Light

This was a weakness of the Montero Sport models. If you google Montero Sport 4WD light flashing you will find lots of information. The best troubleshooting article I have found is here: http://4wd.blogeasy.com/article.view.run?articleID=318776 This article is about the Pajero, but the Montero Sport uses the same platform so this article applies.

The Montero Sport uses several switches and vacuum modules to put the system in and out of 4WD. If any of these malfunction, the light may flash continuously, flash intermittently, fail to come on, and it can trigger the anti-lock brake light to come on. In brief, if the 4WD shift lever is engaged, but the transfer case doesn't engage, the sensors show a mismatch and will cause the light to act funny including triggering the vehicle's anti-lock break light. These SUV's need to be shifted into 4WD regularly to keep the switches and mechanisms working correctly.

Try this before you even think about a visit to the $$$$$ Mitsubishi Dealer:
Shift the 4WD lever between 4WD High, Low and 2WD at least 100 times. Often, this will free the mechanisms and resolve the problem. It worked for me after three years of trying everything else including the dealer replacing switches, etc. If this does fix it for you, just be sure to shift the vehicle in and out of 4WD several times at least one a week and this will keep the mechanisms lubricated and functioning correctly. If that doesn't work, try the above link (article). Good luck!

Jeff

When i put the key in ignition it has power but when i go to start it nothing happens, not even a click.

Sounds like either the battery has insufficient power to turn the engine over, or solenoid is stuck the starter motor. A quick check for the battery condition is to turn the headlights on for 10 seconds. If they dim very quickly or do not come on at all, then the battery will need a trickle charge. Check the battery indicator if one fitted or remove the tops from the chambers. Please be careful when removing these as battery contain acid and can be very corrosive, depending on battery condition. If headlights stay on for more than 10 seconds suspect solenoid being stuck. Good luck. S

Orange oil light comes on in mits padjaro

Check your oil, do not run the vehicle until you have that repaired or checked. It could mean no oil is flowing through the engine, A sure ticket to a blown motor if not lubricating.

Why is someone selling me 245/75/16 tires for a 2001 montero sport when that is not the recommended size

Not everyone knows about tires. They can say whatever they like, or sell you whatever they might want to sell. it is up to you to tell them that you want and is the required sized tires for your vehicle. You can also go oversized tires for your vehicle if you like. As long as they do not rub any areas of the vehicle when installed. That could be dangerous. Shop around for tires, you want to get the best you can get for the lowest available price. Don't be fooled by some numb nuts that doesn't know a car tire from a bicycle tire.
