Car has rattleing in engine what could be the problem or does it need emgine
if oil level is good, then check oil pressure, if pressure is low and you have been driving for a while with this noise then you may need to replace the motor as metal particles will cause damage unseen. it could also be the timing chain that is so loose it is flopping around and hitting the timing cover. in this case replacing timing chain and gears will be required.
Brake lights will not work
Use a voltmeter and go from the brake switch which is under the brake pedal and go to a brake light if you have no volts or if you have ok for resistance you have a broken wire check your brake switch first I've found that to be the major weak point
Changed the battery and now the fuel guage does not work
Well there's the obvious, did you check the fuse? If so, I think you might need a new sensor I've had these little buggers short out on me over practically nothing and to change it (unless you have an access hatch in your trunk) you're gonna need to drop your gas tank and its wrapped around your fuel pump.

I'm not to sure how good the stereo your speaking of is but I'm sure you can find a good one for a decent price that will give you so much less headache trust me. First thing I do when I buy a car always is remove the stock stereo simply for this reason TO MUCH HEADACHE

on the crank there is a mark on the engine a mark its like a line on the backside of the engine and a spot on the crank sprocket on the top at the cam should have a hole in the center of the cam sprocket with a red line on the head top near valve cover it should line up properly or if you have 2 marks on the cam sprocket -- one on each side of the sprocket and on the engine side or cover should have 2 marks as well that line up do not take off the timing belt until you have all the marks properly lined up then you can remove the belt but do not turn over the engine without installing the new belt
