Replace fuse or check lighter filament. These are the two most common areas that fail on the lighter. Fuse is under the hood, drivers side, by the windshield. Filament is the piece inside the lighter. These generally screw out and can be replaced at most auto parts stores.

check car scanner first read for code normally it maybe is throttle body dirty ,due to air and fuel or air mass sensor

when you say 'jamming',do you mean stuck in a gear?When they lodge a fault or numerous faults,the system goes in to 'limp home mode'.It stays in one gear,a sort of a get you home but I now I've got your attention,get me fixed mode.
I cant find a code 90,even the conversion to P codes doesn't define this.It may be a manufacturer specific code,
on engine it is 90 -camshaft timing adjust actuator open cicuit or short to ground.
or 090-not used.
on trans conversions,009xx-P09xx-not used.
I suspect that my update for the codes needed hasn't been supplied to me.
I shall do some more research for you if needed.

the contacts are dirty first try can of compresed air like you use on your pc,you might have to remove the switch and clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol.

you can get uncut chipped keys from ekeylessremotes.com for around $16 to program them yourself however you will need 2 working keys if not you will have to have a dealer or a locksmith program the key for you.

quite easy to sort out but it will take a while with a lot of patience ,jack each wheel up in turn and remove then inspect the set up and determine what type of system you have ,now a 97 most likely uses a toothed ring with a sensor so first of all ensure toothed ring isnt loose on the drive shaft ,then follow sensor wires back from wheel to find the multiplug ,disconnect multiplug and then use a automotive meter set on millivolts lowest setting and then spin shaft and see if you get a reading ,one of the sensors isnt giving a reading i would assume and once you find it this will reset the whole unit as soon as you drive the car 200mts and not before ,disconnecting battery and some fancy code reader will not reset the ABS only when all sensors are giving a reading will it go out .

take off the door panel and there should be two or three srcews
