My 1995 Chevy Caprice Classic wont start what

It could be many things. Check your fuses first. Make sure your fuel pump is kicking on. You should here a buzzing sound when you turn the key. You can also spray gas in the carborator and then start the car. If it starts and dies instantly, it is a fuel problem. If it changes nothing, try viewing your spark/coil wires and look for damage. Check the distributor cap and make sure the metals studs are all good. It could be a cam sensor as well. I know that is a lot of parts, but it could be any of them. If you can get a code from the computer, that is your best bet. It would give you an idea of where to look. This is if the car cranks. If it doesn't rotate, it could be your battery, a bad connection, or a starter. Write me back if you have a question. I am here to help you.

I have a 95 caprice lt1 motor how will can tell if

fans coming on is a system check. first have the computer scanned to make sure no codes are set causing this. have fuel pressure checked. check the relay for the pump. not seen many fuel pumps go and stop intermittently usually they freeze and may start once or twice but just die and dont come back. with a pressure gauge connected see if the problem will occur again while the gauge is connected and loss of fuel pressure falls off. hope this helps

How would I fix my

you would find a functional used instrument cluster in a junkyard and pay someone to put it in for you. at the same time you would be paying them to install a new speed sensor as well to take care of both possible causes. speed sensors are cheap, clusters are not.

My car starts but it wont stay running, I changed

Yes it could be a failing fuel pump, but it could also be several other things. If you haven't already done so a good place to start would be to check for trouble codes stored in the computer.

MY 96 CAPRICE WONT START

No you need a special tool that plugs in-line to the passlock module to imitate the key. There are 13 different key codes, and you will have to know which one you have to order a new ignition cylinder (because it comes with 2 new keys and you have to retain the same code for the module in your vehicle). There are 2 tiny wires that go from the passlock module up the column to the ignition cylinder and back to module. Your key has a chip or resistor in the shaft. When inserted the module completes the circuit and reads your key code. 99% of the time one of the 2 tiny wires get broken at the ignition cylinder (due to all the turning of the key in its lifetime). They are extremely small in gage and can't be reconnected where they break.

Where is the heater blower located

The first action that you have to do is drain your coolant reservoir. Pull right panel under dash it is held in by clips, directly under the blower panel there are 4 wires together (this is the blower resistor), if you need take off, unclip the wires and there are two screws remove theme and the resistor will come out.

To acceso at the heater blower, remove the two hoses that connect to the heater core at the fire wall. The core comes out from the inside of the car. You have to remove the kick panel (seven screws) and the glove box on the passenger side. Then remove the vacumm lines and wires clipped to the box and the brace below it. There are two screws holding a retaining plate (in the rear and front of the core), remove that and then pull the core down and out.

Be careful not to spill any coolant on your carpet and save the sealing material to reuse it on the new one.

Hope helps.

How much is it to

get a phone book out and look in the yellow pages under auto repair, transmissions. call three shops and ask them how much, average the costs, then you will know. they might want to know if you want a new transmission, a rebuilt, or if you just want yours repaired. Generally exchanging yours for a rebuilt off the shelf is cheapest and most sensible. make sure the price includes a new torque converter.
then they will want to know if they are installing it for you to give you a labor estimate. if you have never changed a transmission, i suggest you do not undertake the job yourself.
