Just put "BMW ignition lock problem" in google's search field and read all about it. Hope it helps but I haven't mastered the technique of manipulating the (paper clip/small allen key/piece of wire) described in various posts on other sites. Good luck!

next to the key hole there is a spot to put in a paper clip. there is a special tool that is a bit more rugged. the key has to be in the 1st position (not off). this can be really tricky and sometimes we can work for hours trying to get a lock cylinder out.Your best bet is to find something that more rugged than a paper clip and stick with it, can be really frustrating

my first suspect would be the harness adapter, if your sound was working ok before fitting the the new decks:take the part number of the adapter and check it again even if you have to check it on line with the manafactures to see it is compatable with your new decks/and your car chassis number.adrian

i would suggest they mean a torque wrench.... yes i know i should use one on pretty much anything i work on but i don't.... as long as you install the new pump with the gaskets properly fitted.. you'll be fine.... it always amazes me how many strangers can do the job i'm doing better then i can

hey doug, if you have excessive resistance in the brake circuit the warning will come on. I would first check the brake light sockets and bulbs to make sure they are not corroded or the bulb turned dark. If they are ok, then I would replace the brake light switch located above the brake pedal. you will have to remove the driver's lower trim cover to access the brake light switch.the circuit is seperate from the central lock system.

I would check the door lock actuator and the actual linkage. you need to remove the outside handle assembly for full inspection. on your model year car the linkages sometime wear out at a camon the handle that rotates the linkage. sounds really like you have worn linkage/handle.

hello charm city, if your car is a pre 1996 model, I would take a look at the speed sensor mounted on the differential. It will have an electrical plug (2 pin). It is held in with one or two small bolts. What area of the car is the fuel leak at. You have rubber fuel hoses at the front and rear of the engine and at the fuel pump in the trunk. there are also some at the fuel filter under the car near the right rear subframe area. the get brittle and start to leak with age.

hello dawney1, if your car is a 1990 5series as listed, then raise the window all the way up. Then hold the switch in the up position for appr. 7-8 seconds and release. If you car is not this year or model, the procedure may vary. also, only the driver's window has a one touch up and down. the other windows only have a one touch down.

you'll want to make sure that all the air spaces have been removed from the coolant system. Sometimes you have to add coolant thru the upper radiator hose.

What also works is to install a prestone flush kit. It will allow you to run water under pressure to the entire system.

You will have to jack up the car and connect jumper cables to the battery lead at the starter (+) and a good ground (-) to power up the system. The doors will unlock when you do this. I have run into this quite a few times.

Install hotter plugs and run it harder between stops. Also check your fuel pressure regulator.

The best thing to do is tuen the key on and teat all the fuses with a 12 volt test light. Replace any fuse that test bad.

instead of getting one from the dealer go to auto body shop where insurance rates prevail and ask for a aftermarket radiator its inexpensive and it usually has the same or better warranty

The brown sludge is what coolant looks like when it breaks down, this stuff usually accumulates in the coolant recovery tank, have a good professional flush done where the block is pressure flushed and wash out the recovery tank with hot water and detergent.
