Remove the plug from each coil one at a time during idel.. you are trying to determine which cylenders are not firing.. If you find a weak one switch one of the strong cylinder coils to the weak one and see if the problem travels with the coil. If it does then the coil is at fault.. if not check the spark plug and run a compression test.Run these tests before you buy or replace any other parts.

You most likely have a bad light control module (LCM). I have seen this problem many times before with this module. The LCM basically controls all the lighting in the car. It is located in the passenger side kick panel, take off the plastic panel behind the door post under the dash and it is a black control module back there. You can pull it out and send it away to be repaired from places like BBA reman, this will avoid having to have a new unit programmed and will save you some money.

Hi Keith Sometimes the stearing lock comes on and sticks, try getting hold of the steering wheel and pull down to the left a bit at a time and at the same time try to put key in, or you can wobble the wheel as you are trying to put key in this also sometimes works...hope that helps

The onky way to reset is with a computer. There are reset tools for bmw but I suggest that you buy a cheap bmw link for a laptop. make sure it is only for bmw most of them say you can do bmw with them but it has its own protocols which only bmw have. be careful when you buy.

First thing is to make sure it has the correct level in the transmission. Then if that doesn't work its either a 400-500 dollar fix (valve body) if it is the GM version of transmission or a 4000$ fix if it is the BMW version of the transmission. (rebuild or replace)
