The first objective is to figure out which bulb you need. I had to replace the bulb for the largest light which was a Sylvania 3157. The next objective is to remove the dang plastic carpet holder/net clip. Recognize that it is a two part piece. Use a flathead screwdriver for leverage. Pry the cap off by levering the screwdriver in the slot on the holder. Then go behind the carpet and pinch the plastic pin still holding the holder in place. Next,pry off the while plastic pieces from the two bolt/nuts you'll need to remove (see manual). Remove the nuts and give the two screws a push from the inside so you can see how the whole light casing comes off. Pry it off from the outside. On the backside of the bulb holder, turn bulb base counterclockwise and gently remove. Pull bulb upward and replace. Do not touch glass on new bulb with your fingers (wear non-powdered rubber gloves). Make sure the bulb snaps in place. Follow these instructions in reverse. Smile, you just learned something new and saved yourself some easy money.

The oil filter is located behind the right (passenger) inner fender cover. It is right next to the crankshaft pulley at the bottom of the front of the engine facing toward the right front wheel. I do not have a picture at this time.

Hope this is helpful!

Where is the Speed Sensor located on a 2005 Nissan Altima?

My car was put to test on a diagnostics machine and the speed sensor code came up. My car seems to be shifting while I am driving it and also I have to hold my key inorder for my car to crank, when before I could just turn the key and it would crank up.

An engine speed sensor is mounted on the vehicle’s crankshaft and is usually where the speedometer gets its data, whereas wheel speed sensors are located individually at each wheel or axle generating a signal that changes with wheel speed.
It is important that these two speed sensors are always in good working condition to provide accurate data. If one of them gives the wrong signal, control functions of the engine ECU and ABS ECU will be largely compromised. So to have a long-lasting speed sensor, cleaning it every now and then is necessary. Simply wipe off the grime it has accumulated with a towel. Or it’s okay to carefully blow-dry it with compressed air. Anyway, it does not need to be hospital-clean, it just needs to be free from major debris and metal media.
If this didn't do it for you call autozone and they can pull up pictures of it for you and it will show the location to the exact positioning.
Hope This Helps

Dear cz50001: there are only a few things that you, a weekend warrior can do to diagnose and/or fix the problem on your car.
Unfortunately the newer cars get, the more complex they get.
Unfortunately, your car is one which falls in the more complex category. Your car is designed with a "BODY CONTROL MODULE". This little gem gets input from nearly every electrical component in the car including the sunroof. In terms of what you can do to check it out: The fuse box inside the car has roughly 24 fuses positioned vertically 12x12. The fuse located at the lower left side of the box is a 10A "red in color" is for the sunroof. Remove it and look through it to see if it has been burned through the center. If it has, replace it and try the sun roof. If the fuse blows again, you have a short and it would be best left to a professional.
There is another set of circumstances which can occur that will render the sunroof inoperable. If the battery is disconnected or if the sunroof motor had been disconnected, the sunroof will stop operating. To reset the sunroof memory, with the key in the on position, push and hold the sunroof tilt switch in the forward (up) position until the sunroof is fully vented (tilted up) position. It should at that point operate normally. Should those two suggestions not solve your problem, it requires either a dealership with a specialized tool called CONSULT-11 to communicate with the BCM. There are some specialty shops such as mine equipped to deal with your car as well. However, most can not address this type of problem without this diagnostic tool. Good luck.

How to change fuel pump on 2005 Nissan Altima?

It will turn over but will not start. On the second or third time, it will start. At first, it would start and then cut off after driving about 100 yards. I put some fuel injector cleaner in the tank. But, I don't know if it helped or not. It doesn't cut off anymore, but I'm still having the same problem with starting. I don't know if this will help, but if I turn the key in the ignition half way and hold a few seconds, the car will start. What are your thoughts and can anyone replace the fuel pump? What is the procedure...step by step? Thanks so much in advance.

BEFORE YOU TRY TO START YOUR CAR, TURN THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION AND STOP TO HEAR A WHISSING SOUND COMING FROM YOUR FUEL TANK. IF YOU HEAR THAT NOISE, THAT IS YOUR FUEL PUMP ENGAGING AND IT IS WORKING FINE. IF NOT, YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GET IT CHANGED. ITS A GRUELING PROCESS SO HAVE A MECHANIC DO IT. IF YOUR FUEL PUMP IS WORKING, TRYING CHECKING THE PRESSURE OF YOUR FUEL. YOU MIGHT NEED A NEW FUEL FILTER(IT CAN GET CLOGGED UP) OR YOUR FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR MAY BE MALFUNCTIONING.

tengo codigo P1574 nesito solucion

tengo codigo P1574 nesito solucion y diagrama

Intente traducirlo, acabo de ver en el manual de servicio y esto es lo que encontré; P1574 es el sensor de velocidad del vehículo ASCD por lo que sería en relación con su problema del velocímetro.

Posibles causas:
* Arnés o conectores (La línea de comunicación CAN está abierta o en cortocircuito.)
* Arnés o conectores (El circuito metros combinación está abierto o en cortocircuito.)
* TCM
* Combinación metros
* Sensor de Velocidad
* ECM

Pareciera mas una falla electrica. Espero que esto le ayude a resolverlo; gracias por usar Fixya.

ASCD = Automatic Speed Sensor Control Device
CAN = Controller Area Network
TCM = Transmission Control Module
ECM = Engine Control Module

TSB Bulletin:
Vehicle Application: 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5L, Eng Cfg V6, Eng Des VQ35DE
Customer Concern: The check engine light is on with codes P1574 and P0720.
Tests/Procedures: Locate the A/T Revolution sensor and the A/T Turbine Revolution sensor on the back end of the transmission. Both connectors are Black in color, and if swapped, will cause the codes to set and the transmission may not up shift. The A/T revolution sensor is the one closer to the end of the transmission (on the end of the case). The correct wire colors on the A/T revolution sensor are Red/Yellow, White and Black. The correct color wires at the A/T turbine revolution sensor are Red/Yellow, Green and Black.
Potential Causes: Improperly Installed Automatic Transmission Connector - Swapped connectors on the automatic transmission.
Defective Automatic Transmission Revolution Speed Sensor
Diagnostic Codes: P0720, P1574

Procedure and location:
Disconnect electrical connector.
Remove revolution sensor from A/T.
Reinstall any part removed.
