Radio/sub plays perfect for a few mins and then the subwoofer goes in and out depending on the volume (if loud it doesn't come back on). I think that there's a short in the amplifier but I was advised that its the power supply for the amp (the dealer disagrees). Has anyone else experience this problem and if so how did you correct the issue. Thanks
Get a hold of the woofer connector (I believe its brown) right by the whoofer and move it around/press it/disconnect and reconnect and check if the woofer comes on. There is a bad connection in the connector for the woofer itself. I have a 2001 GLE my self and that's what I found to be the problem with mine.

2001 nissan maxima, which o2 sensor is bank 1 sensor 2 ?
bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on , and sensor 2 refers to downstream , after the catalytic converter. , this link shows bank 1 on a 2001 nissan maxima V6 being on the firewall side . if you had a 4 cylinder it would be downstream after the catalytic converter .

MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS FLASHING MUCH FASTER THAN MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL. HOW DO I FIX IT?
when a turn signal indicator flashes faster than is normal it is your vehicles way of telling you there is a problem with the lighting system, do a visual check of your turn signals and you will find a burned out bulb. just replace the bad one and it will return to normal

Where is the IAT sensor located on a 2001 Nissan Maxima
does nissan maxima 2001 has a timing belt or chain .and after how many miles does that need to be changed.?
For the 2001 Nissan Maxima 3.0L SFI DOHC V6:
It has a Timing Chain.
Unlike Timing Belts, Timing Chains will normally last the lifetime of the car. However, when it is time to change the Water Pump: it is a really great idea to change the Timing Chain and Camshaft and Crankshaft Sprockets, as you are in the vicinity and have already torn down everything already.
Professionally, but not officially, I like the 100,000 miles rule with Timing Chains.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!

Air bag light always blinking?
Mine came on when my car hit 120K mi. I also reset it using a sequence within the car.
Problem Scenerio: turn car motor on, car conducts self test, during which time airbag light stays on for 5-second (or 5 or 6-beeps)..it turns off for a second then flashes 'off and on'...and annoys the hell out of you as you drive...especially at night.
Solution 1: put black electrical tape (band-aid) over airbag light indicator...annoying problem gone.
However, in VA the airbag light can't be flashing to pass the annual car inspection, so....
Solution 2: Reset the Airbag light using the following sequence I discovered and heard about:
1. Turn key / ignition to 'ON' (Do Not Start). and await for the self-testing procedure to end (Air Bag Light stays on for about 5-seconds or '6-beeps')
2. As soon as the Airbag light turns off - turn the ignition to OFF position and count 5-Mississippi's (that's 5-seconds).
3. Then turn ignition back to 'ON' Position and repeat step 1 & 2 again.
Conduct Steps 1 & 2 - Three times in a row.
After the 3rd or successful timed sequence, allow the car to go through it's complete self testing stage and as soon as its done the airbag light will flash...but at a slower pace (That is good!) That means the cpu is resetting. Once you observe the slow flashing airbag light, turn the car off, then start it normally and the airbag light 'should' reset (not flashing and bugging the **** out of you).
Then, take the black electrical tape off the dash panel and throw it away.
This is no joke and it really works!! if you have any questions, contact me. [email protected]

What kind of gas does a maxima 2001
According to page 10-3 of the 2001 Nissan Maxima Owner's Manual:
FUEL RECOMMENDATION
Unleaded premium gasoline with an octane
rating of at least 91 AKI (Anti-Knock Index)
number (Research octane number 96)
If unleaded premium gasoline is not available,
unleaded regular gasoline with an
octane rating of at least 87 AKI (Research
octane number 91) can be used.
However, for maximum vehicle performance,
the use of unleaded premium gasoline
is recommended.
Engine "knock" is not just an unusual sound - but over time can cause real damage to the engine. You *should* use fuels with the recommended octane levels, but if you choose to use fuel with a lower octane level due to reduce fuel costs - do not repeatedly use fuel that causes engine knock. Find the "sweet spot" between the cost of lower octane fuel and an octane level that does not cause knocking. Expect fuel economy and performance to drop with lower octane fuels, too.
Good luck!
