How to install performance module to 2006 lancer

this depends on which type you buy. some just plug into your OBD port under the dash, and some will plug into an accessory port under the hood but when you buy one it should have instructions on how and where to install it. i know this is sort of a vague solution but really its as accurate as i can get. if i may i would like to offer you a suggestion on which one to buy. the super chips tuner chip is the best all around performance chip it improves your gas mileage by up to 3% (which may not seem like much but every little bit counts right) and gives a small bit of horse power gain the thing to keep in mind is, when you get one and install it the results may not be immediate. it will take your car a few drive cycles to recognize it, and make the necessary changes to the computer program. It will then start telling your fuel system to push less fuel and increase the throttle response and change the shift points in your transmission programming. all of these things combined will give you the economy and power you seek. there are cheaper chips out there but be careful because i bought one of the cheap ones and it caused my computer to go haywire and forced me to remove it and get a dealer to reprogram both the ecm (engine control module) and the bcm (body control module) to get it to run right without and codes. i have had great results from mine. after changing to full synthetic oil, a k&n air filter, E3 spark plugs and a super chips tuner chip I'm getting 22-24 mpg out of my 2005 Dodge Durango with a 4.7 liter v8 i couldn't ask for more. i hope this helps.

Replace it at 100,000 miles. This is an interference engine and as such if the belt breaks you will have engine damage.

Car was running fine about

Hi,
You could check those things you have said.
The most important to start the engine is to check the ignition. From spark to the distributor. as you have said the fuel pump works, you may check if the fuel is going out from the fuel filter, by disconnecting the fuel line from the output of the filter, and then let somebody start the engine while your watching it.Check if the fuel goes out.
Then the ignition, check if there are sparks coming out from the spark plugs and cables.

Thats primary things you should do first!

Hope that helps you out!

Thanks for using Fixya!

When do i need to get the timing belt replaced?

Both timing belt and chain can wear out. A loose timing chain can result in poor running, valve clatter, and loss of power, while a broken timing belt can cause your engine to stop running or, on an interference application, cause your valves to crash into your pistons.
Timing belts fail without warning and on some vehicles, are almost as hard to check as they are to change. In most cases, your only protection is to change the belt at the recommended intervals. The timing belt should also be inspected at every oil change for evidence of abnormal wear and tear. Your vehicle owner's manual will recommend at what mileage the timing belt must be replaced. These intervals range from every 60,000 miles to every 105,000 miles. Timing belt replacement is not cheap, but it is extremely important nonetheless.

I have a 2006 lancer es and my battery recently

Charge up the battery so you can get the car started.Buy or borrow an electrical meter that will read volts DC. Start the car and read the voltage at the battery, you are now reading the alternator output, it MUST be over 12 volts and should be between 13.2 to 14.4 volts to charge the battery properly. If its not putting that out then I think its safe to say your alternator needs to be replaced. If it reads in that range then I would have the battery LOAD TESTED if that hasn't been done before.Just because it takes a charge doesn't mean it will hold a charge.A load test will rule this out. Failing this I think you need to take the car into a garage to have it checked over because if its not the above it could be electrical in nature and needs a mechanic to look at it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.Good luck

Service engine soon light is on

The check engine light/service engine soon (yellow light) comes only when the computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system u will seldom feel the car engine run any different, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.

What could cause occasional squeeking

If your calipers are dirty and not floating properly, it can cause the pads to rub. This causes disc glazing and the squeaking that you are hearing. If you pressure wash the calipers the problem should clear up with normal driving.

Clicking noise when accelarating

It sounds like you may have a bad CV joint. This is located under the front of the car - it is the transaxel to drive the car with front wheel drive. There are two of them - right and left. It is most likely the left CV joint or the drive axle. You should consult a technician if you are not familiar with the process of checking and changing CV joints.

are you having any problems? If you are not having any problems, then it is probably not necessary....a lot of times those shops just tell you that to get your money, and they are probably trying to sell the BG cleaners too, if that is the case, they are probably just going for the money.....
