The reason your light is on is because the system detected a problem related to the engine(emmissions system). Usually benz recommends premium grade fuel. It is possible that the plugs have fouled or some misfiring occurred and the system illuminated your light. Do you remember seeing the light flash at all before it remained constant. When the gas cap is left loose or the seal is worn out the M.E. module sets a p0440 codes(miner leak in evap) or a p0442(major leak in evap. The first thing I would check(assuming the car is running o.k.. is the gas cap tightness. Either way you will have to take the vehicle in and have the codes read and erased. If the module notices a problem during a key cycle within 17 minutes of vehicle operation it stores a fault. One the 2nd key cycle if the module notices the same problem with in 17 minutes it turns the light on. Hopefully I have been helpful
check the bottom of you coolant bottle to see if you have a crack and check all of you hoses as well try this website to see if the have your car listed its www.alldatadiy.com hope this help you Michigan Man.
The air filters are located within the engine cover. You need to pop the cover off and access the bottom of the cover. There are 8 20 torx bolts. The cabin filter is located in the rear engine compartment on the pass side over the battery. It is held in by 3 clips.
The problem is either the motor itself or the electric wiring to the motor. Check the motor connectors for corrosion under the hood grill near the windscreen. If they look ok get a set of jumper leads and connect them to the battery. Be careful not to touch them together. Then put them on the motor directly after disconnecting it if there is no instantaneous movement then undo the test rig because the motor is bad. If they work double check the connectors going to the motor its likely them.
under the hood, near the rear of the headlamp assemblies, there are adjustment screws with phillips head screwdriver slots. They may be hard to see with the radiator support above the headlamps, but they will be the only phillips adjustment screw heads on the whole headlamp assembly. They will be facing directly vertical facing up
might have a vacuum leak. 2005 c class 230 kompressors have issues with the engine vent hoses under the intake manifold deteriorating and coming completely apart. This will cause mixture adaptations to max out and can cause missfires. Usually it sets a check engine light when it gets bad enough. There is a factory recall to replace these hoses, so check with mbz to see if your car has an open recall
Simplistically all MB rear bumpers are fitted in the same way.
2 nuts inside the boot likely under the carpet that hold the rear blade section in place like you found already. The tricky part is the forward facing blades. These are held with up to 3 vertically positioned bolts 10mm. These are accessible under the wheelarch after removing or prying the
liner out of position. The final bolt is accessible from inside the
boot and requires the boot side trim moldings/carpet to be removed.
These bolts are often partially hidden by wheelarch strengthening
members.
Then just pull rearwards remembering to disconnect electrics if there is Parktronic / aerial etc
Let me know if you have any further questions before attempting this.

nobody can guess cars, you just tell firts what it is.
the car needs service, (CEL /SED lamp glows ) means that.
so get it serviced or learn to do that and buy the service manual to learn. tests.
tick over = idling. sure.
my guess it needs fuel and filters. (they are clogged)
2.0L diesel engine it is.
it needs to be scanned for sure.
a very expensive car!, so never serviced it?
You will need a compatible with Mercedes OBDII code reader to scan the car for any error codes.
If you can afford it, purchase one and it will pay off for itself after couple uses since dealer's diagnostic charge is $150-$200 in US.
Or you could go to official Mercedes shop and they will reset it for you.
Question edited for clarity, you forgot Herr. Benz.
Question moved from Spanish Car maker category Seat, (pronounced See-At) and nothing to do with car seats.
Can you hear the motor running? It can only be 5 things
Fuses
The Switch
The Motor
The linkage and drive
The Power Seat Module
Look underneath with light and mirrors. Or remove the seat to look.
