I am trying to replace the water pump on an 04 BMW
After you have removed the 4 nuts securing the pump to the motor, you will need to install 2 6mm bolts in the two holes on the pump and alternately tighten the bolts to push the pump away from the motor. After the pump is loose, I recommend removing the the nuts from the top of the motor mounts and slightly raising the motor until the pump clears.

2006 Z4 2000cc. 21000 miles,
Take it to an independent BMW mechanic as BMW dealers use technician level people who replace parts not mechanic level training
an independent may have a better idea about the problems
and get the fault codes read and ask for their meaning

Battery charged but won't crank
could be a bad ground point , dirty battery terminals and posts
more than likely a bad battery
have it load tested as they will charge up but if the cell is bad , it will not have the capacity for a heavy discharge that is required by the starter

How do i get my bmw z4 radio that says disabled to allow me to enter a code?
Hi
Unfortunatley once you have entered a code wrong 3 times in a security coded radio, it is rendered U/S, this is an anti theft device so if someone steels your radio, and tries to enter code incorrectly it has a special chip that burns out ( or what ever it realy does) and then they cannot sell it or use it.
Sorry....

Bmw z4 radio shows disabledf?
Did your Z4 lose all battery power? If so, the have to enter the radio security code. If you don't have it, you might have to pull the radio out as its usually on the back of the radio. Hopefully it's on the card that has the key code, and wheel lock code.

there is an electronic switch behind the unit under the dash. Very hard to get to so an auto electronic can do it for you

Headlamp inclination too high up
There are two adjusting screws on the back of each headlight, as a rough check for the alignment, on flat ground, drive the vehicle right up to a wall, mark the centre of the light on the wall, reverse the car straight back about ten feet. Switch on main beam and the beam should shine straight at the mark you made on the wall. Dip the lights the beam should drop and go left by about two inches (UK). Left hand drive the beam should go to the right and down (US).

Battery discharge
Take your Battery into Autozone and have them CHARGE IT and then TEST IT, if the CCA's are low, then you need to replace the battery.
Remember that there is a Difference between Voltage and AMPERAGE.

Dead battery
Get your own battery charger that shows voltage. With car off ,hook up to terminals,Should read 12 plus volts. Battery ok. Now turn car on, voltage should read 13.8 or close to that. alternator is charging and is ok. You might have a short in wiring that is draining battery, some car alarms do this, also if you put in sound system with big amps it will draw down battery if it is run all the time. Usually a real pain to track down.
