My 2004 BMW 530i won't
remove the starter and bench test it with your battery charger. Apply the red connector from the charger to the large battery lug on the starter solenoid. Attach the black connector from the charger to the vise. have a 6 inch wire to use now to do the test. The 6 inch wire you will apply it the red positive connector and the touch the other end of the 6 inch wire to the solenoids small threaded lug. It will click if the solenoid is good and the drive should protrude out as if it meshing with the flywheel. It should be running quite fast as well. If one or more of these explainations are now working, replace this starter. If working you have a shorted wire or a faulty electrical ignition switch

Need to refit the 4
push wires onto plug no problem but its wiring code/order you need to know and this is not in any of my books so i would look for a vehicle the same in a supermarket and when owner returns ask if you can have a look at theirs or try a scrapyard and ask their .if they are the wrong way around you cannot hurt anything so you could try by elimination

I have a 2007 5
Bad battery, they go out just like that. Same thing happened to me. I got my car to the shop and they checked it out and it had a dead cell. I had enough power to run lights and radio but not enough to crank the car. If you can find a shop close they may run a new battery out to your and change the battery for free but a tip might be nice.

2001 5 series spark plugs are getting flooded with
Well, the key question is how much oil are you consuming...Quart in 600 miles or more is considered normal, but I prefer 1 quart in 2500 miles...
If high oil consumption, consider hotter plugs, and decide if engine work makes sense. If only a cylinder or two, try hotter plugs in those cylinders
If no oil consumption, look to weak spark, damaged wires, etc.

Oil change reset for bmw 525i
You only need to hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done.
Thank you for using fixya
