2001 BMW Z3 Roadster 3.0 service engine soon light
This is a problem with your fuel mixture, it is getting too much oxygen. It could be a problem with a vaccum leak, fuel filter, fuel pump, or fuel injectors.
A good way to test vaccum leaks is to: start the engine, spray carberator cleaner around the vaccum lines. if you suddenly hear a difference in the engine (RMS shoot up) then not only have you figured out if you have a vaccum leak, but you also know where it's at. Carb cleaner is basiclly a potent fuel so you'll hear the engine run stronger if sprayed directly into the vaccum line.
If you dont find that it is a vaccum line, I'd clean the fuel injectors and replace your fuel filter. If this doesn't fix your OBD problem, then it's still good to know that they are nice clean and new, neither are real expensive either.
If you dont like to keep your car full on gas, it is most likely your fuel pump. The pumps have to work harder and harder with the less and less gas you have in the tank. Also, if you have a standard tranny you are more likely for the fuel pump to go out because the revs are higher.
Let's not hope it is the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) because they can be costly and a pain to replace.
What is maf valve
MAF sensor is the mass air flow sensor in the intake system
it is part of the mixture adjustment system that the ecm has to have to adjust correctly.
WHAT SHOULD I LOOK AT FIRST
You need to look at the door lock actuators, I'm guessing 1 is operating but staying on when locked and draining the battery. Try manually locking the doors and see what happens. It may come down to removing the door trims and disconnecting each lock in turn, don't forget the boot lock, until you find the culprit. Its possible you may hear the lock solenoid humming or buzzing or feels warm as its trying to lock the door unsuccessfully.
There is no power going to the car radio in my bmw z3
Perhaps the connector behind the unit has become loose/disconnected? There is rarely enough play in the wiring harnesses of today's automobiles (In my opinion). A few good jolts over bumpy roads have pulled wiring harnesses out of place in many instances.
Most expeditious way to remove
REAR QUARTER HAS TO BE CUT OUT.AND NEW OR USED QUARTER PANEL HAS TO BE WELDED IN PLACE TO THE MAIN STRUCTURE.YOU NEED A LOTS OF BODY WORK SKILLS TO CUT OUT REAR QUARTER PANEL.YOU HAVE TO USE MIG WELDER TO KEEP FROM OVER HEATING WARPING PANEL METAL.YOU NEED A LOT OF TOOLS.IT NOT A EASY JOB IF ITS YOUR FIRST TIME DOING BODY WORK.
Thermostat location
Failed thermostat....likely in the open position....after a long while you get heat. Or...no heat but engine temperature rises quite high then your themostat is stuck closed
Causes cylinder misfiremw z3
Yes, it is very possible for the Mass Air Flow sensor (aka MAF) to cause a misfire. You need to replace the MAF if it's causing a misfire. More detail please if this doesn't answer your question
