bought a new keyless remote and dealer wants to much money to program. anyone have that info?
THIS IS THE PROCEDURE, FOLLOW IT EXACTLY OR IT WILL NOT WORK.
Transmitter Programming
No Tools Required
In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.
Important
Once the keyless entry receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information. You must then program all of the transmitters.
Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If you program multiple receivers simultaneously, the same transmitter could possibly be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.
Perform the following steps:
Sit in the vehicle driver's seat. (actually it’s much ezr from the front pass seat)
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Close all of the vehicle's doors.
Remove the MALL PGM fuse from the fuse panel. Refer to Electronic Diagnosis in Body and Chassis.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the ACC position.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder OFF, then back to ACC within 1 second.
Open and then close any vehicle door. You will hear a chime when the remote control door lock receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode. If you do not hear a chime, start again at step 1.
Important
After 7 seconds, you may hear a chime confirming successful synchronization. After approximately 14 seconds, you will hear a chime confirming successful programming.
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
Repeat step 8 in order to program each additional transmitter.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the MALL PGM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Electrical Diagnosis in Body and Chassis.
Validate that all the transmitters that were programmed operate properly. Refer to Keyless Entry System Operation

I have a Pontiac G6, 2006. The AC works fine and the fan works on all settings. I just can not get the heater to heat no matter what settings I try. There is plenty of air, just won't get warm. I'm hoping someone can give me a few ideas to try (hopefully from easiest forward..my dad tried to teach me some before he died but we didn't get to the heater.). There is no water leaking from anywhere, which I was told to look for under the dash. And if the first thought is the temp. doors...how do I check this? And is it under my dash? Any help is appreciated.
If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, here is an easy way to see if your heater core is actually plugged or not. It does require that the engine is up to operating temperature, which means you should also be careful not to get burned.
Find where the heater hoses actually pass into the car. They are usually found going into the car behind the engine at the firewall. There should be two black rubber hoses, about 5/8" diameter. With the engine running at operating temperature and the heater on, both hoses should feel pretty hot. If one hose is hot and the other feels cold or lukewarm, the heater core is most likely plugged.

how do you reset the engine light on a 2006 pontiac g6?
first be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it. I have a pontiac g6 2006, the 4 cylinder. When i shift the vehicle from park to drive, it makes a big almost a "clunking" sound. Then it does a smaller version of that into second gear. It is automatic transmission. After 2nd gear or so it stops. This also happens with a random "service engine soon" light appearing. I was wondering if anyone knew if this would be some sort of sensor or if the transmission may actually be slipping in those gears.
I have the exact car w/same exact problem. I was told that ist was the speed sensor, which just so happens to be located inside the transmission w/a $400. repair bill.

I thought I was the only one with that stinking problem. The same thing happened around 56K my G6 started to shift extremely hard into 1st and 2nd. The "check engine" light is on all the time. The repair shop I took it to said he couldn't find a thing wrong with the transmission. Now I have someone else out there that has the same problem as me. I think Pontiac really made a mistake when they put this car together.
transmission fluid?!?

how to reset pontiac g6 computer
The battery cable trick is the oldest shitiest trick in the book it solves nothing but delaying a problem and erasing the ck engine light.... I've been up and down the Pontiac G6 from no start no crank issues to climate control to pc problems these cars have way to many issues that should have been recalled of course the reason these things weren't recalled is bc GM would owe some of you guys a new car. I can help with about any G6 problem but some things aren't worth fixing

Lost key got a new key and now my car won't start
It seems like you need to reprogram your key, and this is how you can do it:
1. Sit in your car and ensure all doors are closed
2. Put the key into the ignition while holding the lock button on the driver's door
3. Turn the G6 key in your ignition from "On" to "Off" while holding the "Lock" button, and do two more cycles of "On" and "Off" in quick succession.
4. Release the ock button and press and hold the lock button on the remote for 15 seconds
5. Now, remove the key from the ignition, and it should be programmed, and anti-theft mode would be put to rest
