If i'm not mistaken the light beside the battery sign is the check engine light. this lights up if anything under the hood is not functioning the way it should. Unfortunately i cannot be more specific on this. It just means that you could be staring at a major repair, or your gas cap could be too loose (no kidding).

Well as you've mention your oil is dropping at a very fast rate then its a good place to start checking. You can check if your oil seals are ok and might as well check all the filters...oil filters, fule filters air filters.

you can service the EGR valves using carb spray....but first you will need to have compression test to all of the cylinder....if compression all okay...check spark plugs to see if engine oil sticking on the plugs...that means your valve stem seals is worn out need replace...

Sorry you have to replace the control panel. the bezel just pops off, then you can access the screws to remove it.

Take a look at the air delivery system,also look for a detached vacume hose.
could be that something got loose while you were changing the battery.
look near the battery area for any loose hoses or for that matter any loose wires or

exact same problem happened with my lancer i took it to an auto instrument shop and it cost me $330 to fix and hasnt stopped working since.

po421 catalytic converter code [warm up catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1] means the o2 sensor is detecting low oxygen in exhaust problem can be cat conv going bad---o2 sensor faulty-and or bad spark plug ....as to the p0441 evap system[-evap emissions control system incorrect purge flow ] this is a system code meaning any part of the evap can have problem will need to check the fuel lines vapor lines for damage or breaks-check purge valve -purge valve solenoid- canister- and vacuum lines
