Hi, there is a factory wire (red with a black stripe) in your car for illuminating the stock radio. This wire is not to be used in an aftermarket radio, so you need to make sure it isn't connected and also isolate and bare wire with electrical tape. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

When replacing the alternator belt

There are 2 belts. One goes around the Crankshaft. the Power Steering Pump and the Air Conditioner Compressor (if equipped) and the other belt goes around the Crankshaft, The Alternator and the Water Pump. You can have your local parts supplier verify that you have the correct belt for the vehicle by calling them and giving them the number on the belt. Also make sure that you are installing the belt in the correct position. i.e. putting the alternator belt on the alternator and not on the power steering, etc.

Right Side of Engine Block...
The Follwoing instructions will tell you how to remove and replace:
  • Drain the engine coolant into a container that holds at least 6.3 qts. by twisting the plastic drain plug on the rear of the radiator.

  • 2

Unbolt the air cleaner assembly. The assembly is on the right side of the engine compartment, to the rear of the battery. A single bolt on the right side holds it in place.

Squeeze the tabs on the air intake hose clamp where the hose connects to the engine and pull the hose loose. Remove the air cleaner assembly and hose.

  • 4

Remove the insulating shroud from the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine. It is held on by four bolts.

  • 5

    Remove the timing belt.

  • 6

Unbolt the water pump from the right side of the engine block. Unbolt the flange connecting the water line to the pump. Remove the pump.

Check for a lamp that isn't shutting off. To check the under hood lamp with the hood shut look up into the engine compartment after dark. To check the trunk lamp get into the trunk and slowly lower the lid-Be sure to place a towel or something with bulk over the trunk latch to prevent accidental locking.
