After i put the ac on my bmw x5 2003 get over heat

pls. check your ac compressor magnetic clutch attached in front of ur compressor if its working/ ac clutch engage when u turn the ac switch on and disengage when u turn the ac switch off/ it normally makes a clacking sound when it engage with the rotation of ur compressor/ if its not engaging it means ur magnetic clutch is stuck up giving excessive load to ur engine thats why it overheats/ it smell burnt because its magnetic coil is fried/ or check cooling system of ur car might be that coolant is empty/ fan is not working/ radiator is clogged or thermostatic valve is stuck blocking coolant flow....

How to replace turn light on bmw x5

partially remove the desired light by remove the 4 8mm screws, two ont the top and two at bottom behing the light, pull the light out far enough that you can see the socket, you should be able to remove it at that point. You should also check the contact of the bulb as it is most likely burned or melting and has damaged the socket so you should replace he socket and bulb as the warning may still be present even though the bulb works. Also the rear tail lights have a corrosion and burning issue as well on the brake contacts.

Won't start after getting gas

Try collecting some of the fuel in a clear jar and see if the bottom layer turns to water. If so there was water in the tank where you filled up. You may have to either add a lot of gasline antifreeze or empty the entire fuel system and start with fresh gas. Thank you, Dana

I have had to jump my 2003 BMW x5 several times.

Good day!
In your case I suggest you to recharge the battery first and do load test test, if it's failed, replace it with the BMW specific battery, if battery is good, check your charging system, the voltage should atlest 13 or not morethan 15 volts when engine at idle mode (with or without load). If it's Failed then check Alternator Power Supply and replace part if neccessary. If it's good then do Ignition Off Current Draw Test.to do this, you have to open both front Doors, Hood and trunk. close all door striker by using screw driver, make sure no electrect components are On, Start and off the engine just to weak up all control units. Remove key and lock the doors using remote control. disconnect battry terminal connect your ammeter (at lest 10A) to battery lead and battery terminal, wait for at lest 16 min ( 70 min. if the car equipt telephone) to process the vehicle going into sleep mode then you can measure current draw while the ignition is off or vehilce is in sleep mode. The current rate should settle at max 40 milliamperes (E39), 50 milliampers(E60). if the current value exceeded then remove fuse one by one and do not return it untill the current drops to specific value. In this way you will determine which component is consuming high current draw and replace part if neccessary.
If you car is equipt of telephone, there is another way to test it. Disconnect the Telephone or ULF control unit and observe it if the battery will drain agin because a faulty telephone or ULF control unit is a common cause of battery keeps flat for this car model. I hoe you can find the problem of your car
Good luck!

My 525i bmw ran hot today and the car cut off.

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

Sounds like you have a cooling problem. Check the radiator water level. Water in the radiator should always be full. If the water level goes down everyday, you definately have a leak in your cooling system. Leak = overheating. Overheating = engine shuts down to prevent damage to itself.

I hope this helps. Thanks and good day.
