How do I replace the temperature thermostat on
The procedure to remove thermostat is as follows:---
You will require proper tools to remove parts to reach the thermostat.
1)You will need a 32mm wrench a 10mm 11mm 13mm socket and a flat head screw driver.
2) Now with the help of 32mm wrench take fan blade off by turning clock wise.
3) Once fan is out off the way then you can use the screw driver to remove the clips on the upper & lower radiator hoes.
4) The thermostat is held on with 3 10mm bolts take them off and 1 13mm bolt. When you remove the 13mm bolt you will also need to loosing the 11mm nut that holds the engine pull bracket.
This will help.

My blower in my 2003 BMW 5 Series goes on and off,
there is a resistor that needs replacing. It's located inside the car, under the dashboard, near the steering column. If you don't replace, it could run your battery down, as the fan/blower will operate when the car is left.
When I try to use my 2002 BMW X5 heater or AC,
YES, THE LOWER PRESSURE AC PORT IS AT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR.
IF YOU OPEN THE HOOD YOU WILL SEE IT , BY THE WINDSHELD WIPPER TANK. ALSO THE LINE AS A BLUE DOT ON IT. AND A BLACK PLASTIC CAP.
THERE IS ALSO ONE BY THE RADIATOR BUT THAT IS THE HIGH ONE.
YOU WILL NEED THE LOWER ,PORT TO FILL UP THE AC UNIT.
ALSO STAY IN THE BLUE , NOT WHITE OR RED. READ INSTRUCTIONS ON CAN !!!
I USED THE ARCTIC FREEZE ULTRA SYNTHETIC 134 A REFRIGERANT. PEPBOY ALSO WALMART HAS IT.
I BOUGHT THE 134 CAN TO FILL UP THE AC UNIT , AT FIRST IT DIDNT FIT BUT THEN IT WORKED. I TRUNED ON THE CAR AND THE AIR ON HIGH.
NOW AM GETTING VERY COLD AIR.I ALSO CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT $ 250 , TO DO SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN DO FOR UNDER $ 15 DOLLERS. THE DEALER DID TELL ME THAT THEY ALSO CHECK FOR LEAKS AND THEY ALSO EMPTY THE AC UNIT BEFOR THEY REFILL IT .
I HOPE THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP , WHEN USING THE 134 A CAN ! YES IT DOSE WORK AND IT WILL FIT .
When cold in mornings when back up then shift into
Every car needs a heating engine time specially when its cold, I recomend like about 5 to 10 minutes after you start engine and before you change from P to D. If you try to start the engine first time in the morning, it's cold outside and you immediately go on run you are going to have this trouble every time. Every engine has it's operational standard temperature a 5 to 10 minutes working engine, car stopped, may guaranty this standard temperature and optimal function conditions, and also keeps a longer life of your car.
Good luck
Have same trouble with 03 fan blower. central

BMW X5 Battery Drain.
hello theringbar, I would recommend checking the a/c blower resistor. it is an electronic final stage and can kill the battery overnight. the final stage is located on the passenger side at the back of the a/c heater box.
