Please describe your How do I unlock the secondary lock on my 2005 chev pickup sprare tire hoist.
This is the worst GM engineering i have ever seen !!!! The secondary locking mech. rust itself in the locked position on will NOT allow the tire to lower. After lowering the tire down approx. 2-4" the saftey lock is still engaged. I was able to reach above the tire and remove the bolt holding the hoist in place. {15 mm wrench}. Keep a floor jack under the tire to support it and as not to fall on your head. After removing the bolt the hoist is hooked on the frame member and must be lifted off to remove. Once you get it on the garage floor it is possible to disengage the locking mech. with a few tools and a big hammer. Good luck This should be a Recall

AC is electronic dual controll. The driver side works good. The passenger side with the temperature set at 60 degrees it may blow cold or neutral or hot air. When blowing cold air on both sides and raising or lowering the control temperature on either side just 1 degree may cause the passenger side to blow neutral or hot air.
You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator

where is the knock sensor location on a 2005 chevy tahoe, 5.3L, V8?
I was told it was beside the oil filter. I looked but can't seem to find it, Am I blind?
Please Help
Unfortunately, the knock sensor is located UNDER the intake. You have to pull the intake off. I had a mechanic do mine. He said its best to replace both because they both corrode. (2 sensors, intake gasket, labor ($250)

2004 Chevrolet Silverado 4WD, 5.3L, Ext-Cab pickup. Often at low speed when braking the brakes make a grunt, groan noise with extra travel down with the brake pedal, sort of mushy on dry pavement. Gradually happening more often. Dealer said that there is no recall, that the abs sensors needed to be removed and cleaned, could break on removal - extra cost of course. Any other options to try first? Is this something a basic maintenance & repair level person should attempt to repair?
Thanks,
Joe Penar
Joe it is common for the brakes to moan when they wear down and sometimes they will squeak, try replacing the front pads and lubing the shafts on the calipers install anti squeal on the back of the pads, the ABS device would not cause noise as they are just a ring with a magnet and the reluctor ring spins and the magnet detects the spinning of the reluctor ring, they don't even touch and are stationary in place where they are mounted. There is a possibility that the brake fluid is dirty and could cause the abs motor to groan but you would just have to flush the system, When you don't put your foot in it on the brakes it will make some noise even new, I have a 2008 ford ranger that makes the same noise and the brakes are fine. You will have to adjust your braking habits to stop the noise. You can change the pads and that will help but not for long, be sure when you are operating your brakes press firmly on the pedal until you stop. If the brakes make noise after you let up on the pedal then the caliper parts need to be cleaned and lubed, however it is not a safety issue.

2005 chevy silverado abs problem light stays on
Check the fuses.I know that there was a recall for the ABS senser, but not sure what years are covered.Check with the dealer service Dept. The just clean the sensor and there is no charge. Not sure if this could cause your issue.I had this done on a 02 and a 04.They also replaced the tail gate cables for free.

steering wheel hard to turn right but not left at slow speeds
Check the power steering fluid level. Left is torque side and probably tightens the belt as right it would loosen the belt a little so check the belt for sloppyness too. Hope this helps, The Raz

LOCATION OF TCM ON 2005 1500 SILVERADO
Location of PCM/TCM
Look to the front driver's side area of the engine. There's a plastic cover next to the battery, and the PCM is underneath that
