it has an anti-theft radio that needs a code to unlock it in case it get stolen it becomes useless the to the thief. the code is programed into the radio without removal by using the controls on the face of the radio. you may have to go to the dealer to have re-programed.

Did you install the battery backwards or this sounds silly but I have seen it done did you pull the plastic caps from the new battery before installing the cables. Check your connections at the battery if all good there you may be looking at fuse issues.

The throttle body and idle air control motor needs a good cleaning. Use brake clean and a toothbrush and clean inside the throttle as best you can. especially the back of the throttle plate and where it sits against the throttle body. Start the car, it will take a second or so. Then rev it up and spray some cleaner in the throttle keeping it running. This usually takes care of the up and down RPM's. Have the codes checked to see what is going on. It could be the idle air control motor. Let me know.

have you checked the fuse box for the fuse for this function , probably included with something else so may have to check more than 1 fuse , but the lid/cover or owners manual should tell you which one it is

have you tried putting it in neutral then try to crank it or pull shifter up towards park. if it cranks ok then Neutral Safety Switch needs to be adjusted or maybe bad but first thing to do is clean your battery cables some times they look clean until you take them off.

This is not an easy job!!! Support the motor and remove the upper motor mount. Take passenger side wheel off to access the torques bolt hidden behind a small dust cover. Remove, 4 bolts hold the plate that the torques screw went through. You need to do all this to take the housing off from around the idler pulley. Also remove the power steering pump from the housing. Dont need to detach the hoses, just unbolt it and sit it up on the motor. In order to get the housing off there are 5 bolts. 2 of them you need to raise and lower the motor in order to gain access to them. Last, the idler pulley has a torques bolt holding it on it is a pain to get out as the plastic cover for the timing belt is in the way. Good luck. Took me 4 hours!
