under the passenger side-frame rail near the front tire

back in the early days the serial number was on the frame of all vehicles.
now all on on the left side of the dashboard which can be seen thru the windsheild

you can either splice in to cig lighter or back of stereo , i recomend back of cig lighter although you have to lift the center console up to get to it

open glove box remove users guide read it, it is in the book. or the sM service manual most that raise have latch there to let it up or down if pressed the latch and force harder UP, it comes apart no year car told and are not these same nor country and not the same again google book or get it from makers support site , land rover in you county.

Please check for your transfer box.

Have you checked for the fuel pressure sensor?

That goes behind the plastic inlet manifold. If you hold it on the side to where it goes and bring it to the level of the manifold will give you the fitting position.

Check for the the glow plugs( preheating plugs )

check and test bulb
