when you use the "preset keys" (the keys on the radio with numbers on them) to enter the code, each time you press a code number, a letter appears [c, o, d, e]. once the word is spelled out, from entering the correct 5 digits, the radio is reset, ready to go.

BUT if you miss a number, enter a wrong number, whatever, each number pressed, still makes a letter appear from the word "code". once the word is spelled out, by entering ANY 5 numbers, if ANY of the 5 is wrong, the radio displays a message "Error" and then a number 1 thru 10.

When you see the word "Error..."

the next preset button you push, starts the whole thing over again. The radio says "Enter code". That is when you enter the 1st of the 5 digits, the letter C appears, enter the next digit, the letter O appears, enter the next digit, the letter D appears, enter the last digit, the letter E apperas, the radio is reset, ready to go, if you got the 5 correct numbers entered.

you have 10 chances to enter the right 5 digit code. Each wrong try of 5 digits yeilds a display of "Error 1", "Error 2", "Error 3", etc 'till you get to 10 incorrect tries of 5 digits each.

If you dont get it right in 10 tries, you have to leave the radio "on" for an hour, then it will let you start the 10 tries over again.

Look in your owners manual for your codes, If you can't find them there then you will have to pull your radio out, the stickers will be on the radio " that's only if its a factory installed unit....

REPLACE FUEL FILTER,REPLACE AIR FILTER CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS SEE IF IT HELP THE PROBLEM. MISS IN ONE CYLINDER COULD BE BAD COIL OR FAULTY FUEL INJECTOR.

It's got to be another connector or fuse someplace. The OBD II connector does supply power to the reader and one of the very likely sources of failure is the fuse for that power. My GF's GMC Yukon XL OBD II connector didn't work and it turned out that the power was on the same fuse as...the cigarette lighter. She knew her son-in-law had caused the lighter to stop working but it never occurred to her that there would be any side effects. You should be able to find the wiring diagrams online or get a copy from the dealer (especially since he cannot find the problem) and trace back from the OBD II connector to the fuse and power source to identify the fuse in question. Of course, if it appears good, check it with a meter--they can blow in spots you can't see. Good luck!

On Hondas when power is not supplied to the radio it goes into a safe mode, this is to help prevent it from being stolen. You will need a code to input into your radio. If you call or visit your local dealership they can look up this code using your VIN, it is typically a 6 digit numerical code, you just use the preset buttons to enter it. If you bought the vehicle new you should have this number in some of your paperwork/manuals. Good day!

If it's on a hatch a lot of the time u can remove the trim panel from the inside and get to the latch and manual release it.

depending on exactly what happened when you put the key in you may have to get the key less transmitter and transponder replaed they come different than most these have what is called a rolling code built into the system.that being said you may have to do this like your adding or replacing a key where as you will have to use the HDS to rewrite the immobilizer-key less control unit. this will also programs the vehicle to work with the key less transmitter. just contact me with more info such as you started it it ran for a few secs and died then does nothing now or if you put the key in turned it to acc or exactly what happened or just give me a little more info. plz and contact me directly and we will go from there
