Not a solution, but our torrent is doing the same thing. Periodically things like the radio, blinkers, dash lights, etc won't work. After parking the car for a while and trying again they seem to work again. This continues for about 2 weeks then the car decides not to start. After recharging the battery; a couple of days later the cycle continues again.
We thought it might be a short in the DVD player as it happened when we left the disc in, but the dealership has been unable to duplicate the issue.
Everything from updating the software on the electric seats has been done without success.

No it is not normal and is a known fault...A break on the plastic line on the top of the fuel tank which connects to the fuel pump is the likely cause...The entire fuel pump assembly needs to be replaced...This has happened on many 2007 Torrents...I would suggest taking it to a reliable mechanic to have it repaired...Dealer cost are outrageously high...There is a Tank Pressure Sensor that does not need to be replaced and you can purchase a pump assembly without that sensor...The price difference is $90...See photo, and part # of a replacement pump that does not include the sensor...the old sensor must be transferred to the new assembly...Guru................Saailer. you might go by auto zone and have them plug in there box to see what is causing this light to stay on, it usually is free. also you might try the manuel my car used to refure to the radio buttons and the mauel would let me know how to use it. it will reset lights and turn off for example your engine needs served and the mechanics are suppose to reset the buttons but do not always do so. thank you and god bless
