Hello Carrie Bonhag, Who-ever said that... needs their OWN smart chip worked on... Is being OVERLY cautious... ESD: Electro-Static Discharge is a whole different FIELD of STUDY... of SEMI-CONDUCTOR protection... Simply toughing both points of a 12 VOLT contact point would remove ALL those SMART-CHIP concerns... TOTALLY SAFE jumps are perform EVERYWHERE daily... ((EXACTLY: roadside assistance = a jump)) The only thing you need to worry about "jumping" is the FINAL circuit closure should be AWAY from the AFFLICTED battery... The sudden charge WILL generate HYDROGEN gas at the depleted battery side... ALLOWING a nearby SPARK could easily provoke an EXPLOSION... ADVANCE BATTERY Preparations Lot of fresh water and BAKING SODA would be nice (to have near-by (to neutralize the ACID... All over the clothes, cars... hands... faces (etc.)). I'm just saying... myriad of things it could be...Has it ever been tuned up? How many miles are on it? All gasoline powered cars have to have fuel air and spark, so one of these is the problem in some way. How does it run once it gets started?

Mitsubishi Eclipse AC leak & dealership cannot find the leak. Been in for service 5 times and dye is not showing leak. Any suggestions as to where it can be?

Your leak may not be coming from the outside. The AC has an evaporator tray that catches the humidity pulled from the air in the car drains it to the ground.. Sometimes the drain gets plugged up. Clear the drain and clean the tray. Sometimes that situation is accompanied by a nasty smell.

My top will not go down on my 2007 Mitsubishi

Definitely want to stay away from the dealer. Might try a respectable garage mechanic and ask him kindly how to go about it. If they know anything about it, I'm sure they can give you advise. You could also purchase a repair manual for the car, this will come in handy when your next problem comes along also. Manuals are around 10-20 bucks and well worth the money.
