To check for a battery drain yourself,disconnect the battery large cable and place a 12 volt test light between the cable and the battery positive.If you see a bright light on the test light you do have a vehicle drain,if it's dim don't worry about it.Now,if the light is bright pull one fuse at a time until the light goes dim,this will be the circuit draining and you can now trouble shoot that circuit.Don't cause a bright light by opening a door or turning on the key.DO NOT TRY AND START THE VEHICLE while the test light is hooked up.

The Chevy Equinox has an 80 Amp mega fuse that tends to fail and cause all sort of power steering and Stabilitrak issues. Before I messed with the belts or power steering pumps, I would check the fuse first.

Either the hood isn't correctly lined up with the switch or the switch is defective.

i have chevy equinox 2007 LT with AWD system, my problem is that i have two messages appearing in the DIC : satbilitrack and service tracktion control. can u help me with this and tell me whats the problem and how should i fix it?

It's telling you your stabilitrak system is not functioning properly. Sensors in system are failing and setting service light. You need a GM dealer to diagnose system.

Your vehicle has electric power steering ! The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, power steering motor rotational sensor, power steering motor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, and the GMLAN serial data circuit to perform the system functions. The PSCM and power steering motor are each serviced separately from the steering column assembly. However, the motor rotational sensor is serviced as part of the power steering motor, and the torque sensor is serviced as part of the steering column assembly. The PSCM also monitors vehicle speed from the engine control module (ECM) via the GMLAN serial data circuit. At low speeds more assist is provided for easy turning during parking maneuvers. At higher speeds less assist is provided for improved road feel and directional stability. First check the fuse for the rear wiper to make sure it did not blow. Also, if you had the wiper replaced resently, then the nut on top of the wiper blade may not have been tightened down.
